Looking ahead to the new year, our next big holiday is Valentine's Day in February. So in honor of that special day, let's make some Valentine Dress Postcards. The size of your postcard will most likely be determined by the size of your "dress". My sample shown here is 4 x 5, but I have another that is 4 x 6 as my dress is a bit larger. There are a lot of great dress patterns and templates on Pinterest - the one I followed can be found here: http://www.maxammadestudio.com/2017/09/how-to-make-sweet-little-paper-dress.html So use this one or any that appeal. For the one I used, your paper will be a square piece - I used 5 x 5 and 6 x 6. This will determine the size of your finished dress. You may find that regular weight card stock or scrapbook paper is too thick and might want to work with something more like copy paper. But play around and see what works best. Add some buttons or ribbon and lace trim - be creative! You will make two dress postcards, one for each of two partners, with a Valentine theme. I hope you'll join in on this fun swap - once I got started making paper dresses I couldn't quit! |
