Non-paper ATC Swap

No card stock backing to keep it firm either?

I guess as long as the cardstock is only on the back and is completely non-visible it is okay.

For anyone that might not be too sure about making a non-paper ATC may I suggest fusing plastic grocery sacks, produce netting and other plastic food wrappers between parchment with a medium hot iron for some very interesting effects!

I hope you will do this swap again as one partner just doesn't seem like enough! :)

To make it sturdy you can get a very stiff felt in the craft stores really inexpensive -like 60 cents a sheet, which would be enough for many atcs- then no paper is required at all.

There is also plastic canvas which is great inside a fabric ATC, stiffness and flexibility and no paper at all!

What about shrinky dink? But what size do you start out with to make it atc size when shrunk? Does anyone know w/o me having to experiment and waste a lot of my shrinky dink? Thanks Evelyn

I did this once before. And once again I'll be using leather. If anyone had an aversion to leather let me know.

As for the Shrinky dink, it usually shrinks by 40%. Best way to figure it out is to take a thin strip of shrinky dink and mark off inches them shrink it. Go from there. it may take a little math but you should be able to figure it out. I've always had a problem with it shrinking square, it always warps, I gave up.

I've also made ATC size frames out of foil and melted pony beads inside of it. you can drop shrinky dink shapes, or metal charms into it half way through the melting process. I suggest using an old toaster oven outside to do it since it smells.

Yarnpunk: Now that I see we made it into the top 10 I think I will definitely host this one again! Judy: Thanks! The ATC's in the image on the top are metal roof tiles with alcohol inks. I bend the edges over so they wouldn't be sharp.
