Number of swap partners:3
Description:

I have been away from ATCs for a while and just returned to the fun. This will be the first of a series of recycle, reuse, repurpose ATCs swaps.

This was such a fun swap the first time I decided to host it again. The emphasis is on recycle, reuse, and repurpose items. Scrutinize your junk mail before you send it to the recycle bin or trash can. A lot of talent and good design goes into creating the original material. So start collecting just the right junk mail. Embellishments are welcome but 80% of the ATC should be from junk mail.

Each person will have 3 partners and send 2 ATCs to each partner. You do not have to make 6 different ATCs but please send as least 2 different ones for each person.

Any theme, but use only your junk mail (not magazines you subscribe to) to make your ATCs. Only original ATCs please, no computer generate ones!

Artist trading cards are 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches, and should be flat enough to slide into a standard trading card sleeve.

Please be sure you can meet the mailing deadline of February 12, 2009 before you sign up for this swap.

Newbies are welcome. Please don't sign up for this one if you have a swap-bot rating lower than 4.

Since you are using junk mail all 6 of you ATCs will probably be different.

Ooh, the "not magazines you subscribe to" made it a little bit harder to think about how to approach this! What about catalogs? I've used the Catalog Choice web site to opt out of most of the ones we don't want - does that mean the ones we do get are similar to a magazine subscription?

Camelsamba,

Catalogs would be fine. I have done a magazine atc swap in the past. I was thinking about do another one so I wanted it to be different from the junk mail one. Besides I get soooo many ads in the mail it isn't hard for me to come up with a pile of stuff to use.

do we have to put any embelishments

alteredtome 01/13/2009 #

Miles, Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday! No you don't have to embellish but you might think about cutting and gluing words or images as an embellishment.

I have mind ready to go...it was so easy as I get tons of junk mail..

Kathy2eggs,

Your mail box sounds like mine.Tons of junk mail waiting to inspire ATCs. Hardly ever are any two alike because of the source material. Hope I get to see yours.

Hope I got in. I work nights and it let me sign-in @ 0300 on 1/23. Let me know.

Mine was tougher than I thought, until I did this I didn't realize we basically get no junkmail here except for sales ads. More of a challenge, I still liked the results...hope the recipients will, as well. Got my first two cards in the mail today...fun, FUN!
