Description: | |
You will make your partner 1 standard ATC (2.5"x3.5") by following the 10 steps below. For this series of swaps you will need to have the specific TH product which is in bold text so be sure you have them or can get them before signing up. Step 1: Grab or create a white or light colored piece of cardstock that is the size of an embossing folder. You will eventually cut it down to ATC size. Step 2: Choose any shades of distress ink or distress oxide ink and go straight from the ink pad onto a Tim Holtz embossing folder pressing firmly to ensure ink is applied to lowest areas. You're free to use a single color or multiple colors, just take care to use lighter colors first to avoid cross contamination. Step 3: Grab your water mist/spray bottle and hold about an arm lengths away from the ATC to lightly mist the embossing folder once or twice with water to get the ink to bead just a tad. Step 4: Give your blank piece of cardstock a quick mist on front and back and then carefully place on the un-inked side of the embossing folder, close the folder, and run through your embossing machine. Allow to dry completely and wipe your embossing folder off with a damp rag. Step 5: With a fine grit sandpaper (or something similar) lightly sand the raised pattern on the front of your ATC to bring out the light color. Step 6: Choose a coordinating color of distress ink or distress oxide ink and use a blending tool to lightly apply ink to the raised pattern that you exposed in step 5. Step 7: Cut the cardstock to ATC size and use the remaining bit for a different project. Step 8: Distress the edges of your ATC using a paper distresser, sandpaper, file etc. and apply any color of distress ink or distress oxide ink to the edges with a blending tool. Step 9: Finish off the using any Tim Holtz branded product(s) that you wish (think washi tape, ephemera, idealogy bits, diecuts, stickers, words, etc.) Step 10: Mount your ATC on something sturdy like 140lb watercolor paper or use a couple layers of thin cardstock. On the back of the ATC write at least the title, your username and date. In order to create more swaps like this I need to know what TH products you own so please check out this thread. As always I will angel if you are flaked on provided you have rated your partner a 1. |
