Good Morrow ladies, As Georgian Era miniaturists, we are meticulous about details and special additions to ones dollhouse or roombox setting, I discovered this delightful image and wanted to share with you. For a gifting with a difference, make a selection of letters or illustrated etchings with the air of being hand wrought, aged and treasured by its miniature resident who lives in the dollshouse or roombox. For this swap, we will be making a selection of 5 or more miniature etchings/letters in the scale of 1:12 scale or 1 inch to 1 foot. thus they will be tiny. If your paper is illustrated, draw by hand or if choosing images from the internet, please ensure they are in a hand drawn style, or water colour painted, as this was the usual pursuit of an at home lady during our era. Tie your bundle with a fine piece of cord or string in keeping with the scale above. This ought to fit inside a normal envelope without being too thick, so the weight will be infinitesimal and will no doubt be a normal letter postage. This is our first miniatures swap in our "At Home" group, so we hope we will have a few intrigued participants. Post Script... if you have any other suggestions for such swaps as these, please write them below, or in our suggestions in the forum. Thanking you. |
