But it would be nice to at least take a look at your partner's profile to avoid sending things they hate.

So sad :-(. I've got a craft room full of "stuff" looking for a home. However, I just joined so I don't qualify. After I figure out all the ins and outs of the group and have some swaps completed, maybe this kind of swap will come 'round again. :-)

Pateva27, happy mail swaps just like this happen regularly. I’d recommend to work on adding information to your profile, at least that way when you do have the ratings to join these types of swaps, you’ll be ready and more likely to receive items that will make you happy 😊

@Mimi92 I know not everyone is mean, that was not the reason I am not accepting newbies. I have done swaps like these in the past that were newbie friendly and had A LOT of drama because newbies didn't know how the site worked: people rating down for no reason, people not sending and sending hate messages when being called, etc. For this reason, I do not wish to host newbie friendly swaps at this time. I do not have the time nor the energy to deal with all that drama.

That seems perfectly reasonable and not mean at all. Your swap, your rules, people need to respect that.

Oops, I think I read that wrong, now I feel foolish 😶 Regardless, as much as it sucks for newbies, they'll be other swaps like this and if not we can host our own.

@Corina Like you said, my swap, my rules. Swap-Bot IS a very closed off community because many members have been burned in the past. But once you'll have many swaps under your belt, things will be much smoother. There's a group that helps out newbies that you can join too. Their swaps are Newbie Friendly on purpose.
