Description:

Happy 2018!

Thank you to @AmericanHeiress for allowing me to borrow her 'shared journal experience' idea to create this swap. :)

This will be a journal swap, BUT we are only sending pages to each other, not the whole journal. It will keep down costs, keep the time between shorter, and you won't loose your journal! Sounds good, right? I hope so! You can join as many as you wish.

You may want to have a binder or folder to collect your pages in, but you will NOT be sending it out. It's just going to be a place to collect your pages.

You may type your entries or hand write them, but be sure they are standard computer page size, (8.5 x 11"/ A4) so they will fit in everyone's binder or folder. Please leave room on the left edge and the top of the page in case your partner wishes to punch holes in the page to add to a binder. :) Entries should, of course be neat and clearly written or typed. (You may use the back of the first page, as long as your ink doesn't bleed through. Pages may be neatly folded and mailed in a standard size envelope.)

For each round you will send 4 pages (minimum) If you wish to write more, please do, but 4 page is the minimum: (Note: adding a page to the past round requirements)

Page 1 will be a short biography of you, about 1 page long, but it can be longer. Whatever you choose to share. (Note: If you are partnered up with someone you have previously sent to, you may skip the full bio and list other information about yourself, photos of yourself, a few 'top 10' type lists, etc. You don't have to write another full bio.)

Page 2 will be a journal entry of your day, about 1 page long, again whatever you wish to share. If you wish to take more than a page, that is fine.

Page 3 will be a journal prompt reply. You may choose from ONE of these topics:

It's a new year! Reflect back on 2017. What are some of your triumphs from 2017? Do you have any hopes and wishes for 2018?

What are you reading? Watching? Listening to? Trying anything new or have any suggestions to pass on?

What is your favorite place? Why is it your favorite? (This can be a room in your house, your grandma's house when you were a child, a place you lived & loved - pretty open ended, so you can use your imagination!)

Any dreams lately that you remember? Have you ever tried to find the meanings?

Free form - come up with a topic & write away! :)

Page 4: MAGPIE a page (at least). It can be a pocket scavenger idea like the Keri Smith book - items you collect over the day - a themed magpie page, total randomness - anything goes. (If a wrapper, etc, is not in English, you do not "have to" translate it for your partner, but you may if you wish.) Add bits of holiday wrapping if you wish, tags from items you buy, or create a photo collage, or come up with something totally new and unique.

You will send those 4 items to your swap-bot partner. :) If you get all 4, you rate them a 5. :) Hearts, of course, are up to you.

This swap will be International, and you will have 1 partner.

Sound good? Any questions, concerns, comments? Please PM me.

Are we able to mail these out folded in a standard envelope or do we need to mail flat without being folded? I know I would hate to receive pages that were folded way too many times so I wanted to ask to get confirmation.

@Rosina176 - Sorry, I didn't see your comment til just now. I always forget to check comments! :(

The pages can be folded like a business letter and mailed in a standard envelope. You don't need to mail them flat.

I've done this swap here in the group and as a public swap for several months now, and so far the pages have all been neatly folded and worked fine to add to a binder or folder. I haven't had any complaints. :) Sending flat could cause an added cost (according to our post office) and I hope to keep the fees low as much as possible. :)
