Opening to the New Year (altered key)

Those images of the Old Year (as an old man) giving way to the New Year (baby in diapers) come from the 2-headed Roman God named Janus. Janus was the Guardian of the Gate, the keeper of the Keys that opened or locked the doors.

There are many 'Altered Key' tutorials to be found on You Tube that will guide you into a lovely finished work of art. If you look around your home, in drawers, you may find a key that no longer has a purpose. No need to track down a skeleton key, just use an old house door key, a key to luggage, or perhaps even an old car key that you saved. Pinterest has hundreds of ideas.
