Another month for Cleanup Cards! Same as last month! A cleanup card uses the scraps left over from your other projects to create ATCs with an eye toward design. This isn't sticking all the scraps on an ATC and calling it good. (Come-on, we've all seen those!) This is using your scraps to breath new life into your art by letting go of what you're using, to focus a bit on the outcome rather than the medium. (Haha! Someone just told you to focus on the outcome!) This is definitely mixed media! I usually start with my leftover ATCs that I've played with. Those ATCs that you stuck paint on, but have no clue what to do with. Then, I pull out my paper scraps and start making little piles of what would "work" on that ATC. I usually end up with about 10 piles. Then, I put them together into something that is please to me. The fun part of this is that after I read a book or see an artist that I really like, my wee little brain will come up with some version of this when I am playing with the scraps. It's really fun! This is going to be a monthly swap. You are going to create 6 cleanup cards and send 3 of them to 2 partners. Cleanup cards MUST be ATC size and fit in sleeves, because we like to collect them. I suggest you think twice before adding bulky ephemera. They have a tendency to get ripped off in the post. |
