Objective: To show your partner one of your great passions, in text, sketches, recipies, rhyme, photographs, quotes, maps or whatever else comes to mind. Medium: Concertina booklet/leporello with at least four folds/five pages. A concertina booklet is just a long piece of paper or card folded in a zigzag, like the lovely piece by Jo Bird in the image. Any format is acceptable, it does not have to be square. Take your time and make something beautiful! Example: Say you are passionate about embroidery. You could demonstrate a different stitch on each page, or show the development of your latest project from sketch to finished masterpiece. Say you love travelling. You could use maps, ticket stubs and photographs to tell a personal story about your latest journey. Say you are a bullet journal-keeper. You kould make an entry in leporello form for your partner. Please bear in mind: Not everyone likes the same thing, and that's okay. If one partner is passionate about leatherwork or fishing and the other is vegan, that might make both uncomfortable, but please don't rate your partner down for their passion. Please keep it personal to you and do not "evangelise". Explain YOUR passion, do not attempt to make others share it. All the usual WIYM rules apply: send on time, rate fairly, communicate kindly and have fun! Image: Jo Bird |
