A skinny is a big ATC. There isn't a listing for a Skinny, so I'm calling it an ATC swap. But, instead of being 2.5 x 3.5", it's 3 x 5", which is a file card size - easy to buy from an office supply store, or cut out. It can be made in the vertical or horizontal slant. Make your skinny out of magazine cut-outs. No print outs from the internet. The card must have a theme. So, don't just cut out a cow, unless you've cut out a farmhouse, or something a cow would be next to. You could cut out a cow, and put it beside a horse trough, because that would be natural, on a farm. You could cut out a horse trough, and put a horse beside it. You could even put a cow and a horse together lol Get what I mean? Use your different magazines to cut out a scene. Movie star? Sure! Baby? Sure! The image showing is a skinny I made for a swap a long time ago. How does it relate? The woman is from Europe in the 40's or 50's, so it's vintage. The stamp is of a vintage plane and the map shows Europe and the other stamp shows direction. Senders choice. Use mainly magazine/book cut-outs. You can use ripped up cardstock. You can use a map. You can paint a bit (if you want to use it in the background, no actual images). You can use a stamp, but don't make it the subject. You can embellish with a gel-pen. You could add some glossy accents. You can edge with ink. The main idea is to use YOUR stash. You want to make it so you don't want to part with it. |
