Description:

When you participate in an ATC swap, you're usually asked to pack a lot of effort into it; multiple layers, various mediums, embellishments, finishing and fussy details. But there can be beauty and enjoyment in turning it down several notches and simply combining a few easy elements. The goal with this ATC swap is to use supplies that are easily at hand to make straightforward, quick collage ATCs. Because the steps are so simple, we'll be making 2 ATCs for 1 partner.

Steps

  1. Start with a patterned base that is sturdy and 2.5" x 3.5" in size.
  2. Add a cut out image to the base.
  3. Add a word or quote.

That's it. That's your ATC. On the reverse side make sure to list your name/username.

Notes

  • Your patterned base can be the patterned backside of a playing card, a recycled bit of interesting packaging, a rectangle cut from an old postcard, a pre-painted ATC blank - other than possibly having to cut it down to size, it needs to be a ready-to-use base.
  • The image you use can be of anything and cut from any printed source. A die-cut is OK, as long as it is an actual image of something, not just a shape. Stickers are OK, too, just choose wisely (tiny flakes, for example, are not wise).
  • I am listing this as a Type 2 swap as it is not intended to be a time-intensive project. That being said, take care to send something you would be happy to receive.

Swap image is an ATC (by me) made on the back of a playing card with a Frida collage image found online and words cut from scrapbook paper. I made 4 cards like this in less than 10 minutes. It was fun. ;P
