Description:

I just came upon a nifty new (to me) word, "upcycled". It means to give use to and increase the value of something that would have otherwise been thrown away. My challenge to you guys is to make 1 ATC for 3 partners (3 cards) using nothing but things that you would normally toss out.

Paint, glue, brads, stamps, and other reuseable types of items are ok, but try to keep the bulk of your composition to things that have been upcycled.

A card covered entirely with a single piece of paper is no good, that paper would most likely be used sooner or later for a different ATC. However, a paper "ruined" by an ink spill is another story. A perfect image? No way. But how about the one that printed when you were low on black in that has a greenish tint? Bring it on.

Be as creative with this project as you want. Raid the trash if you want and make your ATC blanks out of old styrofoam egg cartons (and then promise yourself you'll buy the recycled cardboard egg cartons from now on :P) or cut from the lid of a can. Maybe you can make a background from the stickers that come on produce.

The rules for this one are simple. I'll angel if anyone gets flaked so I'm going to take a chance and open this up to any ratings. As always, I will reserve my right to ban arbitrarily as the fancy takes me. I do keep half an eye on questionable swapper threads and if you don't care enough to send to the partners you already have, I'm not going to waste my time either.

ATCs are cheap to mail so this is going to be open to international swappers. Really, the more the merrier. This isn't going to save the world, but the idea of turning even the tiniest bit of trash into a small treasure should earn you a a few Karma points.

It's not required, but it would be nice to add a quick note with your cards explaining the materials you used and if there was any special reason for it. This isn't for hearts (every swapper will pass those out at their own discretion), but just because it's an interesting bit of info.

Don't forget to include your swapbot username and swap name with your cards so that your partner can rate you.

Have fun!

This one sounds like fun! I always save stamped images that are a little light on one side or the other, thinking I might use them someday by redrawing the line or collaging something over the area. This swap will give me the incentive to get into that stash and do something with them. thanks for creating this swap, Breepre!

I just literally used stuff right out of the trash can and made a kinda cool collage and it was really fun. They went out in today's mail - hope you like them, and thanks for letting a newbie play! -Em

I'm too late for this one but I hope that you have another -- this sounds great!
