Description:

For this swap, you're going to show a bit of what's going on in your life by collecting bits of ephemera and sending at least 10 separate pieces of it to your partner, with a quick note explaining what they are and/or why you sent them/what meaning they have, etc.

I'm a bit of an ephemera hoarder, and not just valuable vintage stuff, either. I collect bits of paper to put in my journal from hotel stays, concerts, restaurants, outings, even shopping trips. It's a neat reminder of special times or even the more ordinary moments of my everyday life. I got this idea because I'm headed to Quebec in August and I just know I'll come back with a stash of really neat paper goodies from there! So what kinds of things are you going to send your partner?

  • Menus
  • Tickets/ticket stubs
  • Advertisements
  • Mail
  • Magazine articles
  • Newspaper clippings
  • Receipts
  • Business cards
  • Drink coasters
  • Coupons/vouchers
  • Flyers
  • Programs
  • Itineraries
  • Brochures
  • Maps
  • Interesting postage

The sky really is the limit! Just make sure there are 10 different bits of ephemera - in other words, don't send 10 postage stamps and call it a day. And please nothing dirty or smelly. And please be sure to include a brief note about how you acquired the items or what's been going on in your life or if they have any special meaning, etc. And these should be recently acquired - don't dig through your stash ;)

For an extra special touch, you can decorate the envelope, but it's not required. It's just always nice to see something pretty in the mail amongst the bills, isn't it?

This is strictly sender's choice, so you don't have to check your partner's profile.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! Have fun collecting!

THANK YOU for making this swap international! I too adore ephemera. I'm excited to start collecting right away.

I live in New Brunswick, which borders Quebec. If you've never had a poutine, make sure to have one when you visit. The best are at Chez Ashton in and around Quebec City. And, I highly recommend buying a bag of cheese curds. I think they sell them at most gas stations in Quebec. They're so buttery tasting and delicious! Oh, and Montreal style bagels are delist, a different taste from regular bagels. Have a fun trip! :)

So glad I came across this swap! I'm heading to the Ann Arbor Art Fair for 5 long days, and I just know I will find some great stuff for this swap up there!
