Description:

I love the birds in my back yard; I love their calls and their plumage. I can see them flitting here and there, finding the bird feeders, or hopping on the lawn. In the spring, the migrating birds pass through and stop for a week or two and then they keep on going.

What kinds of birds do you have in your back yard? Can you identify them?

Here's the swap: Find birds common to your area, label them, and print them out. Tell a little bit about each bird - maybe an interesting story or just something you have observed about that bird.

You can find lots of bird images online. I have tried taking photos of them, but many times I am not fast enough! If you have pics of birds that you have taken, even better!

Try to find at least six birds. You can add more if you wish!

Happy Swapping!

Just so I understand -- basically this is a writing and picture swap -- we write about 6 or more local birds with pictures of them and send this "list" or "illustrated letter" to our partner. If that's what you mean, I like it even though I'm not a bird watcher there are at least six I could share with others. I'll put this on my watch list until I know I understand it properly.

Everyone, I am so sorry I was late in getting partners assigned. I have no excuse. So sorry. You have about a month to get this sent, so no worries.
