Hello Mermaid Lovers!! Pocket Letters were originated by Janette Lane and you can read about them and see videos here. Basically, a pocket letter is a baseball trading card sleeve that you turn into a creative letter by decorating and tucking little surprises in each pocket and then fold it up like a brochure and mail it off in a #10 envelope. Just be aware that even in a #10 envelope it will require more postage as it will be heavier than a regular letter. For our group I thought we would start off with any theme you think represents Mermaid Lovers Unite--It can be nautical, Mermaid, Ocean, Sea....or a combination. Sender's Choice, but please check the dislike/allergy section on your partner's profile. The Front of the Pocket Letter should be decorated!--the Back doesn't have to be, that is where you'll tuck in your goodies. The only requirement in filling the pockets is that one pocket must contain a letter to your swap partner--Don't worry it doesn't have to be a novella but it should be at least a short note with a bit about yourself, maybe your inspiration for your pocket letter or what you like about swap-bot or why you joined our group. You can fill the 8 remaining pockets with anything your imagination dreams up and that can fit into that pocket: stickers, washi samples, stamped images, photos, ATC's, tea bags, paper clips, buttons, clear rubber stamps, a puzzle, post its, fibers, pretty paper, swap cards, sequins, bling, quotes, die cuts, basically anything you can fit in one of the pockets. You can start making these before partners are assigned and then personalize them a bit if you want to. So Much Fun!!! Don't forget to include your swap-bot id and name of the swap inside so your partner knows who to rate and thank! I hope you guys will like making these as much as I do so we can do regular pocket letter swaps!! You can purchase the baseball/trading card 9 pocket sleeves at Walmart (I bought a pack of 35 for $4.99 there). They also have them at Staples, Hobby Stores and on Amazon. And some lucky folks even find them at the Dollar Tree! You must have a 4.98 to join. No recent 1's or 3's. And you must have completed at least 5 type 3 swaps to join. I will angel if necessary, although with this great group of swappers I'm not worried about that. This one is USA only, if you'd like an International version please comment below and I will happily add one. Feel free to ask any questions below.
