Description:

This swap is going to be a bit different... We all have those washi tapes we bought or received that just, well, aren't our cup of tea. Here's a chance to pass them along totally guilt free! Send your one partner at least 3 rolls of new or mostly new (can be used a bit) washi tape that you don't particularly like. This doesn't mean send a roll you don't like because it won't stick or because the tape refuses to come off the roll without tearing into bits! The poor things can only be disliked because you don't like the way they look. (Talk about being a meanie!) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, one man's trash is another man's treasure, etc, etc. Let's give them new homes! :)

Must still be real washi! No dollar store, plastic, peel-n-stick, or glitter unless those are extras.

Don't forget to include a note with the swap name and your swapbot ID! Package carefully. And this will have to be mailed as a package; weigh and ship accordingly.

I'll have to check my stash. I loved your write up. I have some tapes that are just what you describe - they refuse to cooperate and unroll without ripping. They force me to be very patient and peel very slowly. Of course with some I've been so fed up, I've thrown the whole roll in trash can and didn't look back.

I've thrown those kinds away, too, in total frustration! Sometimes a good cleaning on the flat edges with an alcohol pad will get rid of the built up adhesive and they'll unroll right. Not always, but it's worth a try :)

Another trick I tried that worked on a few occasions was hitting the outer edges with a heat embossing tool for a few seconds - I think it softened the adhesive enough to pull it apart easier - just be careful not to melt it!

Love the tips for uncooperative tape. Thank you!

Yes, thanks for the tips for stubborn washi that doesn't want to leave the roll. :)

I love the idea for this swap, but I don't have any rolls of Washi that I just don't care for. Mostly I've added the undesirable rolls as extras in swap and as additional samples when sending out tags. I have received loads of sample pieces that are just not my cup of tea though, and would love to swap so,e out in a sample version if you'd like to do one!

That's a great idea @Babsmom0f5 ! We'll do that soon!
