Description: | |
'Tis the season to break out those colorful towers of printmaking inspiration! Using a homemade gelatin or purchased Gelli Arts plate, make a minimum of three 6" X 6" prints for one partner. Choose whatever type of printing paper you prefer. Your prints will be inspired by a piece of gift-wrapping paper. Any type of printed wrapping paper will do. Use whatever "speaks" to you (Christmas, Hanukkah, birthday, wedding, generic floral . . . .). The goal is not to replicate the paper, although you can attempt to do that if you'd like. The point is to use the paper as inspiration. You might choose a color palette similar to that used by the printer. Perhaps you'll find shapes in the paper you'll want to mimic. Or will the theme stir up ideas? It's up to you! You can use any stencils, masks and/or stamps you already own that suit the challenge or you can create new tools to get the look you want. Include a piece of the wrapping paper in your swap. Send a piece large enough for your partner to see at least one full design before the repeat. It's okay to fold the wrapping paper to fit in the swap package if the piece is too large to be sent flat. Please don't fold the prints, though. Write the swap title and your username on the back of each print. Because the post office is Crazy Town in December and many of us are too busy to think straight this time of year, this swap is not due until long after the holidays. Have fun! |
