Description:

( there is a similar swap, being run by jakeandnicksmom, for alphabet pocket letters, with each letter represented with its own page. She has given her blessing for me to run this one...similar but different.)

EDIT 10/14/15: The deadline dates have been changed intentionally, so that swappers can sign up for all three parts, if they wish. NO other changes were made.

This is an international swap, open to newbies, who have a well-thought-out profile completed.

NEWBIES:A good rule of thumb is, when I open your profile page, I should have to scroll down to read it.

For this swap, we are going to get through the alphabet a little quicker.

Instead of one letter per page, we are going to shrink it, to one letter per pocket!

This swap will be run THREE times, and I hope you will join us all the way through! We start with A -I.

DETAILS:

Make sure that the letter shows up easily in the front of the pocket!

  • You will have ONE-partner

  • For the first round, you will take ONE 9-pocket sleeve, and starting at the top left, reading across, left to right...Fill the first pocket with anything that a paper crafter might enjoy, that starts with the letter "A". Fill the next pocket the same way, this time using the letter "B" and so on.

IMPORTANT: When we get to the letter of your first name or swapping name, please write a nice little note about yourself in that space!

There are nine pockets, each representing a letter.

So for this round, you will come up with ideas that represent each of the first nine letters, like stickers, origami papers, decorated paper, envies, etc.

Here's some examples: (these are just ideas, please feel free to come up with your own ideas) - and mostly, these refer to pictures or drawings of these things. I don't want anyone trying to stuff a giraffe into one of these little pockets!

A - architecture, Angels, ants at a picnic, aardvarks or antelopes, automobiles, anchors, etc.

B - birds, bees, buttons, beads, border designs, B/W pics, balloons, baskets, bridges, bird feeders, blue anything, etc.

C- carrots, construction zones, cats, chocolate, candles, clip art, cards, clips, colored staples, clocks, cheetahs, cheeky phrases,

D- Dandelions, door knockers, drawings, deserts, decorating, diamonds😀, dimes, desserts, etc.

E- envie patterns, embroidery, eagles, envelopes, EXIT signs, elephants, eggs, etc.

F- fine-tipped pens, FB's, fish, flowers, flutes, free-style, fine laces, and edgings, fabrics, etc.

G- guitar, giraffes, gingerbread cookies, gables on roofs, green anything, etc.

H- hand-made, hearts, hockey, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.

I- inchies, ice sculptures, ink pads, iguanas, etc.

Are the pockets supposed to be decorated in any way, or just filled with goodies for our partners?

gramsbuttonbox 08/22/2015 #

The letter of the alphabet should be clearly visible, but this is not a "typical 9-pocket"swap.

They CAN BE decorated if you'd like, this is sender's choice...but mostly, try to insert in each pocket, an assortment of items that start with the letter for that pocket.

And as stated, if one of the letters is also your own initial, write a little note about yourself in that pocket. Hope that helps.

If the fronts of the pockets were decorated to represent the letters, this would be great. I like to take out the goodies, to use in my crafts and pocket letters, then keep the decorated pocket letter in my collection.

That sounds like a great idea, and FUN! I hope you enjoy it, and i hope you might join us!

I had to move the dates back, because of a family emergency, I hope it doesn't cause any problems for you.

Hi, I am Desterni of FunXchange. I still do not receive my partner for this swap. Pls adv

gramsbuttonbox 10/ 7/2015 #

Partners are assigned the day AFTER the signup deadline, so in this case, Oct. 18.

I do not assign them, it is an automatic random thing, done by swapbot. As host, the day after a swap deadline, a link appears in my page, to assign partners, and when I click it, the partners are assigned randomly.

I hope that helps, I'm sorry if you've been worried.

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

I do want to sign up for part 2 and 3, but right now, due to the spread out deadlines of the swaps I am in, and the fact I am a newbie, I am signed up for the max I can sign up for.

I am totally confused, the mailing date keeps changing & I have yet to rec. a partner for the first swap. Are we to make the complete ABC'S in 3 different 9 pocket sleeves so that we send them all to one partner (#1 - A-I, #2- J-R & #3- S-Z) ????? Because my Pl has been made since the first mailing day of Sept. 30th?????? Please let me know what is going on, I am getting a little frustrated. I see we have quite a few all ready signed up, so why can't we start swapping????

piitzi 10/30/2015 #

I'm also ready to send my pocket to someone... I also want to know are these all three swaps going to same partner or all three differend partner?

gramsbuttonbox 11/ 1/2015 #

The three swaps are different, yet, if the same people sign up for all three of them, then it would be possible for you to get the person again....

Hope that helps, Gramsbuttonbox

.Bearnbabs...I apologize, for all the confusion! I was hospitalized, then had sudden surgery. I am home now, and also moved to a new place, the day after getting home. I'm trying really hard to get these swaps back on track, and yes, I know it's been confusing for swappers.

I do appreciate you asking, and hopefully, I will clear the air here -

Yes, we make three different pocket pages, and if you are in all three swaps, the first one will be for A-I,the second one for J-R, and then the last one, for S-z.

The last one fills only eight pockets, of course, with that last blank space for writing a little note, if you haven't done it on one of the previous pages.

These are three separate swaps, and it IS possible, if the same people have signed up for all three parts, you MIGHT get the same partner again, it just depends on how many sign up, when swapbot assigns the partners.

I do hope that helps clear it up a bit.

Thank you so much for joining my swap, and hopefully I can be back on track, and "up to speed" quickly!
