Description:

This swap will involve making an articulated paper doll from scratch!

Here are the rules! Please read the entire swap description!
1) Choose an idea you wouldn't normally find in "old fashioned" paper dolls. (Scroll down for an idea list, if you need!)
2) The dolls MUST be articulated. Each doll should have a minimum of 8 movable joints (for humans/humanoids this would correspond with shoulder/elbow and hip/knee). Other articulatable areas include necks, wrists, ankles, tentacles/tails, wings, even hair!
3) Finished dolls must be between 6 and 9 inches tall (or long).
4) Your doll should be mostly painted, but some hand drawing is fine, too (line work, for example).
5) This goes without saying, I'm sure, but the design must be 100% your own original work. Obviously we don't want to copy other people's work!
6) The paper should be minimum 100lb or so; the higher the lb-weight the sturdier your doll will be. Watercolor paper would work wonderfully, of course. Bristol paper as well. You could also theoretically layer 2 or 3 sheets of 65lb cardstock if you want. (Probably wanna adhere the backing AFTER painting so the moisture doesn't separate the layers.)
7) Please make sure your doll parts all lay flat, to ensure the doll looks as neat and professional as possible! If the paper you use curls from the painting, be sure to weigh it down with heavy books or something to flatten everything before assembling the doll.
8) You will have three weeks to design and execute your paper doll idea. Please put a lot of effort into it! Make it as high quality as you are able! Keep everything clean and neat! =)
9) Mail your doll in a STIFF cardboard photo mailer to protect your creation.
10) Have fun!! =)

Here are a few photos for inspiration!

Ideas!
- Undead: Zombies, vampires, ghosts, skeletons, etc.
- Mythical creatures: werewolves, merpeople, centaurs, dragons, sphinx, etc.
- Cryptozoological creatures: bigfoot, yeti, chickcharney, etc.
- Circus performers/sideshow "freaks"
- Half human/half animal or anthropomorphized characters
- Robots/astronauts/deep sea divers
- Halloween characters: trick-or-treaters in costumes, witches, devils, jack-o-lanterns with bodies, etc.
- Et cetera! Do whatever strikes your fancy, as long as it's an atypical paper doll!
- Feel free to give your doll extra accessories, too! Fans, lanterns, staves, wands, anything! (Not required, though.)

Info/Tips:
1) I just sorta figured it out as I went along when I made my first one. I've looked and looked online for a tutorial to share, but I haven't really found any good ones! For mine, I did a complete, normal drawing first, and then traced over all the parts of the body separately and lengthened each limb section slightly with a nub to overlap, like at the knee/elbow. If that makes sense? If you need help, send me a PM and I'll help you out. =)
2) Miniature scrapbooking brads are probably easiest to use for the joints, but this tutorial uses beads/thread and it looks pretty cool. You could probably also use sequins with a large embroidery knot in the center to hold them in place, etc.

Please let me know if someone has flaked. Flakers will be reported in the public forum as well as the Swap-Bot Flakers group.

I can angel ONCE (maaaayyybe more, but no guarantees because I'll be starting a new semester by then), but only after you've exhausted all options for resolving the problem and have rated your flaker a 1. Additional angel volunteers are welcome, of course; please comment below if you're willing.
