I've been intrigued with the idea of pocket letters, but I wanted to find a way to gear it more towards art than pen pal. If this goes well I will run a series with different themes every time. My thoughts are that these can be kept in the same binder as our tip ins. The finished page should look like a complete composition, but should also include items that can be taken out and used by your partner, should they want to.
Requirements: The short version
9 decorated pockets with at least 5 hand made backgrounds
At least 3 goodies for your partner
Include the title, your name, and three other pieces of information about you as an artist
Make it pretty
Requirements: The long version
Use a 9 pocket page. Each pocket must have a background paper on the front and back. The back only needs papers, it does not need to include any goodies.
At least 5 of the backgrounds on the front must be handmade (painted, printmaking, zentangled, drawing, collaged, etc.)
Include at least 3 items that your partner can take out and use, but make sure that the PL will still look good when these items are gone. Because of the theme of this round, everything that you put in it should in some way reflect you as an artist. For example: you might include some flower shaped paper clips because you really love working in floral themes, or some embellishments that you've made. You don't have to explain the reasoning, we'll just trust you :)
Instead of including a letter you will incorporate some written bits into the overall design. You must include the Title: About the Artist, your name, and at least 3 of following. 1. favorite mediums 2. your website 3. favorite colors to work with 4. favorite techniques 5. favorite tool 6. favorite artists 7. favorite themes to work in 8. any other info about you in relation to art
When all is said and done the finished product should look like one complete composition.
