Description:

It's almost time for the new season of Doctor Who! The 9th season premieres on September 19, so in honor of the new season, lets make a pocket letter featuring all things Whovian for 1 partner to celebrate! If you are new to pocket letters, basically you start with a plastic trading card holder for binders. They are an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet with 9 pockets the size of standard ATC (2 1/2 x 3 1/2) In each pocket, you are going to put decorative papers cut to size (these can be either simple scrapbook papers or you can decorate them with embellishments) and also some treats in each pocket as well. These treats can include stickers, washi tape, labels, tags, and any flatish items. Please decorate both sides of your sheet. The back of your pocket letter should not be plain white paper and your letter should look great on the front as well as the back. There are some fantastic inspirations for pocket letters on pinterest. For this specific pocket letter, I have a few requests. One pocket must include a letter to your partner telling them a bit about yourself and more importantly, when and why you are a doctor who fan. Another pocket must include an image of your favorite doctor and a few lines about why they are your favorite. Another pocket should include an image of your favorite companion and why, and lastly, in a forth pocket, please include an image of your favorite character as well. The other 5 pockets can include things like tea bags, washi tape samples, tags, stickers. They should be mostly Doctor Who themed and can be store bought or made by you. You can also use items that are celestial or planetary in design such as stars and planets. This swap is for USA only, and swappers must have completed at least 10 type 3 swaps and have no recent or unexplained 1s. I will remove anyone that I feel necessary. This is senders choice, so you may start working on it right away. However, it is always a good idea to check your partners profile for likes/dislikes. Allons-y!

Could you clarify if it's just "decorative papers cut to size" in the pockets? Or decorated papers, like with embellishments, images, borders, etc?

Often the backside is "lightly decorated" with plain white paper being forbidden, but just plain scrapbooking paper being allowed. Can you clarify that too?

Sorry I have to ask but I've been in a lot of PL swaps with vague directions. Thanks!

Hi user2637 For this swap it can be just plain decorative scrapbook paper - if you want to embellish it, that is certainly alright. But you are right to question about the backs, and I will revise that. The backs should most definitely not be plain white paper, but I want the main focus to be on adding Doctor Who images and some personal info. Thanks for your questions.

Dang, sorry about the triple post, haha! Computer must have bugged out. You, as host, can delete comments. :)

I have a technical question- in the pocket letters I have been in before, the front of the pl is usually always decorated in the theme or whatnot and I understand from your comment to @user2637 that is not a requirement for this swap beyond ensuring the front of the pocket letter has decorative scrapbook paper in it of some kind. You state in the swap description that 3 of the pockets need to have a picture of your fav Doctor, Companion, and character (assuming you mean like a recurring character or a villian?)- if I actually embellish the front of my pockets with these images and quotes or whatnot, that would fulfill the requirement, correct? Or are these supposed to be lose images that the receiver can take out of the pocket letter and use for whatever (i.e.- not part of the actual PL design).

Please clarify.

Every pocket should have some image or phrase attributed to Doctor Who. Scrapbook paper should serve as a base in pockets where there is a need for a base paper. Think of like an ATC background. You can then tuck goodies into the pockets in front of the papers or you could decorate the papers completely. The idea is that you should see no clear spaces when done. You could design each pocket completely, so that when items are removed, it would still look like a complete sheet. Backs should not be plain white, but do not have to be as decorated as the fronts - unless you want to. Does those ideas help?
