Poetry on a Postcard #9: Walt Whitman

If you've ever heard the quote, "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself! I am large, I contain multitudes", then you know Walt Whitman! He also wrote many famous and well loved poems based on his life experiences in America. Whitman added new poems to each republished edition of his book titled 'Leaves of Grass.' Whitman's poem, "O'Captain! O'Captain!" was quoted by Robin Williams in the movie 'Dead Poets Society.' (Excellent movie, especially if you love poetry.)

THE DETAILS: Pick any Poem by Walt Whitman. Once you have chosen your Poem, copy it onto either a quality handmade or store bought postcard. If you write the poem by hand it should be legible and easy to read. Try to select or create a postcard that compliments your poem selection. And of course have fun!
