Description:

The May 2015 Fandom in a Mini Bag swap is Outlander.

Step 1: Please list in the comments your favorite characters, books, episodes, scenes, or any other preference you may have.

Step 2: After partners are assigned, check to see what your partner likes. You can follow-up with a message if you need to know more. Then scrounge up, buy, and/or create items that fit in a bag. Your bag must contain at least 5 different types of items although more is certainly encouraged. (PLEASE try to make it look full). Different types of items means 5 ATCs, 3 pins, 2 postcards would be 10 items but only 3 different types. The swap requirement is for 5 different types in a bag.

Some ideas of themed items: stickers, ATCs, postcards, toys/action figures, comics, note cards, pins/buttons, magnets, jewelry, trading cards, legal music CDs, charms, ornaments, bookmarks, address labels, plushies/stuffies, promo stills/autograph cards, fanfic drabbles/ficlets, etc.

More specific ideas: books, Scottish items, handmade timeline, celtic music, time travel guide zine, a dragonfly in amber, etc.

Be sure to check your partner's profile so you don't send anything he or she might be allergic to.

Step 3: Put the items in a ziplock-type bag. Size: 1 quart (AT LEAST 8.5inches by 7 inches or 21.5cm by 18cm). You can decorate the bag or incorporate the bag into something (mount it or sew something around it). If you want to make or buy a bag instead of using a ziplock plastic one, that's fine as well, but it should be at least a quart in size. All items you gather or create should fit into the bag (if a couple are too big, that's fine).

Assemble your bags during the month of May and please send by the deadline (May 30)

Group rating rules apply. NO FLAKING ALLOWED! Flakers will be sent to prison and flogged.

I have only watched the first season of the show. (I binge watched while house-sitting! - will have to wait to do this again for the second season.) :)

I am deeply in love with Jamie <3 I also love Claire. I like them together more than Claire & Jonathan. I love the wedding episode the most.

I'd love whatever you create...surprise me!!

I don't have the channel that Outlander is on, so I'm living on the dvds. I have the dvd for the first half of the first season, and almost can't wait for the second half to end, so that dvd set will come out! But in the meantime, I'm devouring the first book and will likely be devouring the rest. They are even better than the show - aren't they always? Characters - I love Claire and Jamie, of course. I also love Mrs. Fitz! She's such a wonderful character! I also like Mrs. Graham in the 20th century, the vicar's housekeeper, and the one who "predicts" that Claire will have two men. And I like Mr. Crook, who shows Claire the stones (not in the show), but he is a very minor character. @Rainsembellishments I hope, I hope that you mean Claire and Frank! Jonathan is one of the most cruel and malicious characters ever! I do have a soft spot for Frank, though. I'm not fond of the sex/nude scenes - call me a prude, even though I'm really not (but my senior mom loves them - wonder what that means). I'm more into the scenes with Scottish customs in them or where Claire is practicing her medicine. Anything Scottish!

I'm watching the series right now and loving it. <3 I have not read the books but I got the first one and will start it soon, probably after this season is done to tide me over during the off season. :)

I love Jamie and Claire together so much--they are the perfect match for each other; Claire's stubbornness and fire plus Jamie's strength and compassion...they're perfect !! Geillis is a interesting character, I love all her potions and plant knowledge (same with Claire). In the second half of the first season Geillis does some bad things but then redeems herself in a really heartbreaking way, so I can't help but like her.

I love seeing historical Scotland and the customs, and the dress--Claire's knits are to die for! I'm also happy when they show the 'future', because I do love the 1940s...and Frank is a good man and I feel bad for him, poor guy. Anything Scottish, tartan, 1940s...and I'll be happy.

I've got all the books (though I haven't finished reading the whole series yet still). I started reading Outlander in 1996 or so and fell in love pretty hard. Neat to see it finally become a TV show after all these years!

Favorite characters (some of whom you know, some you may or may not): Jamie and Claire, Roger, Fergus, Lord John Grey (he's my FAVORITE Gabaldon character after Jamie), Ian and Jenny (OMG Ian and Jenny!). I do like Frank (in fact, I like him in the tv show more than in the book) but he can't compare to Jamie. Sorry, Frank.

I'm in love with Scotland and have been for decades. And the Jacobite era is my absolute favorite. Love the clans, tartans, standing stones, culture, and traditions.

I only have the episodes on DVD, so I've only seen the first half of season 1 as well, but obviously I have read the books dozens and dozens of times and know what happens :-)

Loved the wedding episode, though I liked the book version better, especially the conversations Jamie & Claire have that got cut from the show for time. Hurt/comfort is my favorite genre, so this series gives me a whole lot to enjoy there. I love all the wound-tending and caregiving Claire does, especially for Jamie. And I love how strong-willed Claire is, even though she's completely out of her element much of the time.

My favorite book is definitely Dragonfly in Amber, followed by the second Lord John book and The Scottish Prisoner, because Lord John + Jamie = so much tension and angst. YUM!
