So I know this is a total newbie question, but... is the last day to signup the same as the day when we will be assigned our partners?

The last day to sign up is tomorrow, March 8 and then I will assign partners Monday morning (Pacific coast time) on March 9.

Ok, I apologize in advance, but I've only been a member for a day, so I have a couple questions that I know are totally "newbie." Is the "sent by date" the date you must mail by or the date your partner must receive by? I'm thinking it's the date you must mail by, but just want to be sure b/c don't want to be late =) And, one other question, what is our ID?? Are we supposed to include ID & name of swap on every one? Because I have one I'm mailing tomorrow & I didn't know we had to do that? Don't want a low rating b/c of that...Thank you, Crys =)

Crysmari, your swapbot ID is your screenname -- that way your partner knows who to rate. So your ID would be Crysmari and mine would be CarolWestcamp :)

@Crysmari don't worry about the questions :) Yes, the Send By date is the due date for sending/mailing the swap. And please include your swap-bot ID/screen name and the name of the swap on each swap you send. That way your partners know immediately which swap it is for and your name so they can rate you without having to try to figure out which swap it's for.

Ok, thanks so much =) Now, I have one other question regarding different swaps I'm signed up for if you don't mine =) How long does it typically take after the last day to sign up to get your partner? For instance, I'm in 2 where the last was yesterday, and the send by date is March 14, but still no partner...any thoughts? Thank you =)

@Crysmari usually partners are assigned within a day or so of the sign up date, but it can take a while to check all the profiles of the members who signed up to ensure a safe swap (and good hosts will take the time needed to do this for a safe swap). Technically, hosts have a week to hit the "assign partners" button, but it many cases, this wouldn't allow enough time for you to prepare the swap, depending on the requirements of the swap. Also, please keep in mind time differences throughout the world. And you can drop a swap at any time if partners have not been assigned. Once partners are assigned, you're committed to sending the swap. So, it's up to you how long you want to wait before partners are assigned, but I would give it at least a couple days.

Ok thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it =)

When you say "by telling them something about your day, week, or month." Just anything we did is ok? Is it ok to tell them more than 1 thing? I know I sound silly lol but, just wanna be sure I'm following all the rules correctly =)

Anything you did or plan to do...just fill it up so your partner has a nice long (well, long for a postcard) message to read.

Ok, I have a few little fun getaways coming up, and 1 we just did, so I was going to write about those...it will fill up the card. Thanks =)
