I love these small squares of fabric because you can get a large amount for a small price. Not to mention you can try out all the different fabrics that Moda,Michael Miller,Amy Butler ect offer.

For this swap

Send 1 packet of 30 or more 4 inch, 5 inch or 6 inch fabric charms to 1 partner. You will receive the same back.

Please fill out your profile with your likes and what size you would like your squares. This swap is International providing you can get these in your country. If you cannot purchase them there then this is not the swap for you.

Edited: The charm packs can come from your own stash.Provided you didn't just pick them up at a garage sale or charity store. They must be nice fabrics you can even send ones you have dyed your self.

Newbies and persons with a 4.0 or above and no more then 1 no send can join.I will be checking your profile.

Are these fabric charms to come from a designated designer, or are they from your own fabric stash in 4,5, and 6 inch squares?

Should they meet a particular theme or color?

funkykchicken 01/20/2007 #

They can come from your own fabric stash providing they are nice fabrics. What i mean is designers like the above or even Debbie Mum,Laura Ashley ect.In other words if you purchased it in a quilt shop then yes it can come from your own stash.I would prefer we didn't just swap what we found at a garage sale or thrift shop. You can also swap hand dyed fabric you did yourself.

If you have a favorite color or theme then add it to your profile or on here.

I have a lot of brand new charm packs. I do not believe they are named but are very good quality. Will this be acceptable? Check out my flickr quilts as these are made with them. I would love to trade if so.

Little stitcher

Hello,

Have to say your quilts are gorgeous.Yes i think that would be fine to use your charm packs.I just dont want anyone to send like i said above.Just be sure to read your partners profile.I want everyone to get something they can use and have fun with.I love the charm packs there so much cheaper and you get such a variety to use.Good luck with your quilt sales and have you considered using Etsy? I love that place and i have a shop as well just haven't added anything yet.

Hello i'm new to this and really interested in this swap. but i have a question..does the fabric all have to be different cuts? are we allowed to give about 2cuts of the same pattern for some prints?

TerryF 01/25/2007 #

Please see my profile for colours, but I would be happy with any colours - because I probably have too many of my favourite and not enough of the others anyway! As for sizes, I would prefer 5" or 6". Thx!

PoMoGolightly 01/25/2007 #

Like Tassy, I'd prefer 5 or 6" as I plan to use them for yo-yos. I'll make the same size for my pal, unless she prefers otherwise! Thanks!

funkykchicken 01/26/2007 #

goodmorninglove

You could cut say 15 charms from one pattern and 15 from another pattern. You could cut 10 from one pattern and then 10 from 2 more different pattern. As long as there are some different patterns it should be ok.When you get your partner ask them what they prefer.

TerryF 01/26/2007 #

I don't mind getting duplicates as long as there are at least 5 different fabrics used (for example, 6 charms from each of 5 different fabrics). Or they can all be different too. Thx.

toryam 01/29/2007 #

Hi, I'd like 5 or 6 inch charms. I would prefer a variety and will send a variety to my partner unless you say otherwise. Thanks!

orangesoap 02/ 1/2007 #

okay i've signed up for this one! :D

and like toryam i'd love to get a larger variety of fabric and i'd do the same for my partner unless specified (: would also prefer 5,6 inch charms (: thankyou <3

user2506 02/10/2007 #

Hi, I really can't resist more fabric, I'd love pinks and greens in 5 or 6 inch charms. Can't wait.

user3287 02/16/2007 #

I love romantic pink og green. White or creem is also irresisteble. Sice does not matter.

funkykchicken 02/17/2007 #

Hi Nina,

Let me know if there are some additional colors or fabric type you would like.I know you are doing some different things besides just the quilts.Would like to send you something suitable to Crazy quilting or to do your charms.

TerryF 02/18/2007 #

PoMo Golightly, any preferences other than rose, cream, brown?

TerryF 02/20/2007 #

PoMoGolightly, never mind, I checked you blog instead!

user2955 02/22/2007 #

I would love a variety also. No repeats if possible. I also really love fabric on a white background or light colors. Thanks partner!

TerryF 02/23/2007 #

PoMoGolightly, your swap will be mailed tomorrow morning (Feb. 24).

TerryF 02/23/2007 #

PoMoGolightly, forgot to mention that it can take a while for mail to get to the U.S from Canada, so please be patient! Thx.

user2955 02/24/2007 #

I just opened my envelope from Toni Duke. The squares are 6 and half and she says she is a quilter so it is extra. I do not think so. There are only two fabrics (many squares of same) and they are definitely not quilting fabrics. They are sheer/stretchy polyester. This is the third failed fabric fabric swap I have been in. I am preparing a package now for Toriam and will photograph it before I send it.

funkykchicken 02/24/2007 #

Aly thank you for contacting me.This is my rant so you may want to stop reading now.In the description it says NICE fabrics. This means cotton fabric not polyester.I hate polyester i always have.If you do not have quality fabric in your stash then you will need to purchase some.I do not understand why people sign up for a swap then send substandard items themselves. It's disappointing and hurtful to the receiver.I have been receiving some myself.

I will be sending them back to the sender and asking for items that fit the swap.I'm not talking about fabric charms i haven't received mine yet.I'm just talking about in general.I think that 80% percent of swappers are wonderful ladies who really care. It's the other 20% that are not and send crap because they want something nice.I could go on and on but i wont.I really think it's important that this gets resolved so swap-bot can be a better place.

toryam 02/26/2007 #

Tassy - I mailed your charms Friday, (2/23). Hope you like them! Have a great day!

TerryF 02/27/2007 #

toryam, I will be on the lookout for them - thx!

user5814 02/28/2007 #

I've been sent a pack the same as Aly the fabrics are pretty but not quilting fabrics. I am really confused as Toni is not an agreed swap partner. I have had no contact from Toni whatsoever. I just don't understand this! I don't know what to do from here. I have one swap partner and that is funkychicoriginals. I will only send my swap when my e-mails are responded to. I don't mean anything mean spirited here I am just confused.

user5814 02/28/2007 #

Right, as a newbie to swapbot I have misunderstood things. I have realised that funkychicoriginals is not my partner I misread the info. Kate Ross in the UK is, however Toni in the USA has sent the package. I have seriously been put off swap bot as this is my first time.

TerryF 02/28/2007 #

little stitcher: With Swap-Bot, the partner you send to is not the partner who sends to you - the F.A.Q. Page explains all of this (the link is at the top left corner of this page).

user5814 02/28/2007 #

Thanks so much I clearly misunderstood. Even though I did read the rules.

user5814 02/28/2007 #

ps I am sending the pack back to the sender as I cannot use it in any way.

user2955 02/28/2007 #

I just received a message from little stitcher asking me to give her Toni Duke's contact information. I do not feel comfortable giving out another person's contact info. Also on my package her return address is on the envelope. How could Toni Duke have been assigned two different partners? Where would she have gotten both addresses? Mine and "little stitcher." Some thing seems fishy to me. I decided not to send it back as I am too busy and don't care that much about getting the fabric.

funkykchicken 02/28/2007 #

Swap bot must have messed up when everyone looked to see who there partner was.

Toni Duke is littlestitchers swap partner.Meaning Toni Duke was to send to her.littlestitcher you should be sending to sewpatchwork.

Aly your partner that you received from or should have is MHlivin.

I'm not sure how this happened when i looked it didn't show any thing was wrong. If you have questions or need help then please send me a message.

Thanks

Joyce

user2955 03/ 2/2007 #

Sorry. It was maybe my fault. My swap partner's last name is also Duke and she (MHLivin) did not put her screen name on her package so I assumed she was the same person. My partner sent me a message and I think she will now send the right package.

TerryF 03/ 2/2007 #

toryam, I received your package today and love the great variety of fabric! Many thanks! T.

toryam 03/ 3/2007 #

PoMoGolightly 03/ 6/2007 #
