Description:

We'll go through the alphabet, 3 letters at a time, creating mail art for our partners. These mail art envelopes / postcards could go in smashbooks, journals or albums when you have a whole A-Z set :) We'll have 3 partners & you'll create and send 1 Mail Art piece for each partner.

Mail art is a decorated envelope, handmade envelope, or postcard. If you are sending a postcard, please make sure it is on a sturdy piece of card, cardboard, or card stock; it may travel internationally so make sure it can withstand the journey. :) If you are making or decorating an envelope make sure it is sent "naked" e.g, stamped and addressed. Please do not send your mail art inside another envelope!

It's not as easy as that. Sorry! There are some interesting themes. Time to get really creative! Themes are not as easy as colours, and may challenge you to think, "How will I use that???" For each of your envelopes, there will be 4 themes that begin with that letter. Please incorporate at least one of these themes into your mail art.

This time features the letters J, K, and L. Please choose a minimum 1 theme for each letter, from below, and use it in your mail art. You are welcome to try them all if you are super creative! Use cut outs, collage, embellishments, quotes, anything you like in your mail art using any any mediums and any techniques you want. The mail art is senders choice, but please create something you are proud of! (and no sticker slapping)

Partner 1 - J: Jacks, Jonquil, Jewels, Jelly Beans

Partner 2 - K: Kite, Kaleidoscope, Kangaroo, Key

Partner 3 - L: Love, Lilac, Lollies, Lace

Please include at least a note for your partner. Extra surprises are optional.

Just a note: I will soon be creating a series of make up swaps for those of us that have missed a few letters along the way.

@cynlen That would be great! Last round I received all the same letter, lol!

Katti 01/15/2015 #

@cynlen isn't it better to make one letter per swap? That way it will not happen that you receive 3 postcards or envies with the letter. The swaps can follow after each other close in time. Like each week a new swap. Just a suggestion. :)

I mean with the SAME letter. 3 times the same letter. Like 3 K postcards. :)

@Katti - I've thought about that. I initially took over this swap series, so I wasn't sure about changing it. It's a better way to guarantee we'll each get one of every letter without having to do "make up" swaps.

I will leave this current swap as it is, but for the future of the series, please let me know your opinions about changing to one letter at a time and allowing approximately a week and a half to make your mail art.

@katti that's a good idea :)

I love the idea of changing it to one letter! While its really interesting to see how different people take the same prompts and come up with something totally different, I would really love to have one piece of mail with each letter
