Description:

I have a wonderful book called "Take Ten for Writers" that has over 1,000 writing exercises. For this swap I am using exercise #86 "Time Traveler"

Here is the prompt....

"Here's an opportunity to travel back in time and write short, single, unrelated paragraphs about four real-life events (or partially real-life events) from your past year.

For all four paragraphs start with the phrase "I wasn't..."

Now pick and number between 1-10 and place it in the comments. When I assign partners I will update the swap with the list of what four topics correspond with each number. These are the topics about which you will write.

An example would be ( toes, your thumb, a wish, waiting)

Once you receive your topics write four paragraphs using the prompt above and send to your partner via snail mail.

For this swap you will have 1 partner.

Please rate your partner a 5 if you receive a letter type-written or hand-written with four paragraphs based on the topics they received. Hearts are optional and receivers choice.

Happy Swapping.

Update:

Here is the list of what you will write about based on the numbers you choose in the comments below...

7 chewing gum, waiting, a wish, your hair

3 vanilla, a scar, wanting something, a prize

8 a female relative, cookies, a bicycle, coffee

9 a competition, a towel, a male relative, cereal

10 your stomach, tomatoes, a bathing suit, getting hurt

5 Your knee, onions, missing out, stars

If we have four topics, are we still supposed to start each paragraph with the phrase "I wasn't"?

10 - do we have to write about ourselves, or can we use a character from one of our stories?

The prompt says real life or partially real. So, I think if you add an element of truth to it, you would still be following the prompt. Maybe check with your partner once assigned.

Just remember I live in an altered state of reality. So my reality is just as real to me as yours is.
