Description:

Hello, and welcome to the first SULG edition of 2015. Please read the description carefully as the goodies you send are dependent on your swap partner's location. Also, mind the rules/terms & conditions when putting together your parcel and sending it out. Last but not least, I would love your photos for the SULG blog of either the parcel you send out or the parcel you receive. You can send them to spoiluslocalgoodies@gmail.com.

About the swap

The SULG group consists of members from all over the world, which means that we're not always living in the same season. So instead of making this a Spring swap, I'm making this a Spring/Autumn swap. Check your partner's profile to see what part of the world she is, then buy your goodies accordingly. For example, for Spring think bright colors such as blue, pink, green, and white. For Autumn think earthy colors such as orange, brown, and a darker shade of green.

Because the last months of the year are quite expensive I'm giving us lots of time to put the parcel together and send it out. I realize that in between the sign up deadline and the send deadline swappers can turn into flakers. If that's the case, I will do what I can to manually remove the flaker from the chain, meaning the parcel intended for the flaker will be sent to the flaker's swap partner. This is only possible if the parcel isn't sent out yet, so I would urge everyone to send their parcel near the send deadline, and not long before. That said, so far this has proven to be a mostly reliable group so I don't expect any problems.

What we send:

  • An inventory of the goodies we send. The inventory must show which gift is which on the list.

  • A list of activities (at least 5) you like to do in the Spring/Fall, written on a Spring-ish/Fall-ish notecard.

  • 3 sachets of coffee/tea/hot cocoa. Send three of the same or mix & match, it's up to you.

  • 3 edibles. If you send sweets/candy, you must send at least 5 and they will count as 1 (no matter how many you send). Chocolate bars and candy bars count as 1 if they are approximately 15 cm / 5.9 inch in length.

  • 1 'activity' gift. A bubble blower, a picnic blanket, hiking shoes, a kite, a disposable camera... you get it. You can make this gift correspond with your activities list, if you like.

  • 1 'useful' gift. Think popsicle makers, plant pots, flower seeds, cookie cutters, etc.

  • 1 illustrated book. Any language is fine.

  • 1 magazine.

  • 1 Bath & Body item. Sender's choice but check profiles for allergies & preferences.

  • 1 accessory, like earrings, hats, scarves, necklaces, etc.

  • 1 home decor item.

  • 1 local souvenir.

  • 2 wishlist gifts.

That's it. Happy swapping!

I wonder about the magazine. Are they allowed to be in the local language or do they have to be in English language?

The local language is fine.
