I LOVE altered journals, and with an Alice theme what's not to love? You will be sending 1 journal to your parter that you have altered. You can use a composition book, notebook or journal just so long as you can alter it. (Or for the extreme crafty people, you can make one) Use Alice themed art work to decorate it, add charms, buttons, embelish as you wish. You will have a month to complete this so make sure its good

I'm sorry if this seems to be a stupid question, but how does one make an altered journal? Do you just buy a journal and add stuff to it, or do you write things in it, like a journal you keep for yourself?

An altered journal is one you buy or make (with blank pages) and then cover the front with an Alice in Wonderland themed picture or art. I'm going to tie charms on the side and ribbon that fit with the theme.. ie.. clocks, tea cups,hats, ect. I hope this answers your question. Thank you!

Thanks heaps for the reply April! As I understand it, basically we just dress up the outside of a blank notebook based on the Alice theme and the inside we leave blank for the reciever to use! That sounds pretty fun and easy - I was scared we were going to have to decorate every page inside the blank book as well!

Is there a special size notebook we use? what if you send a big one and get a small one? does it matter? I wouldn't mind I am just curious. I like it fine without size limitations... how about you guys?

Great question... Let's leave it up to everyone. If you decide to do a note book under 3x5 you may want to add some extra goodies. Since this is just for our group I hope most would do a great job regardless of size :)
