SWL ~ childrens mixed media.

I am currently obsessed with everything children's book & illustration theme, and I know quite a few of you who also share this love... so, let's send our partner a lovely package full of everything children's related we know they will love.

The idea is that you sent them an envelope, package, ziplock bag, . individual wrapped or bagged items, whatever you fancy!!... full of items that relate to childrens characters, childrens books, etc.

Now this swap is WIDE OPEN & there are tons of ideas for things you can send for this swap. The only catch is that it is mixed media which means that it isn't just paper/flat. As well as paper ephemera & other paper items, please include at least 2 mixed media items that related to childrens characters/toys/life/books. Don't panic, this doesn't have to be really heavy expensive to ship items at all!

A minimum of 12 items, 2 of these mixed media.

Ideas for paper ephemera/flat items

• Pages or cut outs from childrens books, vintage or not or picture books, spelling books, etc
• Nursery rhyme ephemera
• Die cuts/stickers/childrens book theme ephemera
• Postcards
• Stickers
• Paper bookmarks
• Envelopes
• Washi tape (ABC, cute characters, etc)
• Pretty childrens wrapping paper, gift tags

Mixed media ideas

• Store bought card or plastic bookmarks, wrapped and new

• Tiny/small/mini childrens books (for example, Peter Rabbit)

• Notecard/ greeting cards / pencils / small notepads
• Vintage / traditional childrens theme candy
• Game pieces
• Childrens jigsaw pieces
• Playing cards, flash cards, spelling cards
• Ephemera that isn't paper

Characters such as but NOT limited to... Beatrix potter, robert scarry, the very hungry caterpiller, enid blyton, moomin, charlotte's web, Dr. Seuss, Puffin books... etc etc etc. Your items do not have to be famous/recognizable. They can be vintage or unknown as long as they are childrens.

Check your book stores, they can have cute items. Thrift stores, charity shops and gift/card shops if you need ideas of where to find things. And don't forget to dig into your own stash!! I got this swap idea from finding a lovely, small "the very hungry caterpillar" bookmark the other day & buying it for my potentional swap partner.

Please note you are NOT required to buy anything new for this swap and it is not a "go out & buy things" for your partner kind of swap. It is senders choice.
