Description:

Do you ever see Pinterest projects you'd like to make and you just never get around to making them? Well have no fear I am hosting a round of swaps called "I want to make that!" and feature a popular Pinterest craft each month. For August we will be making animal topped mason jars. Click the link to see my board of these fabulous gems.

The jars are pretty simple to make. You glue a cheap plastic animal figurine to the lid and then spray paint it (the lid) a solid color. Here is a link to my Pinterest board Animal Topped Jars so you can get some ideas.

Once you make your jar fill it with something inexpensive that you think your partner will love (candy, tea, craft supplies etc.) and send it. Please use jars that are at least 8 oz in capacity so that your partner can get a nice sized jar.

The jar color and animal is senders choice. What you fill your jar with needs to be something you think your partner will like based on their profile (nothing from their dislike list.)

This is a US only swap due to shipping cost but if there's enough interest, I will be glad to start an international one.

I'm only allowing seasoned swappers (20+ type 3 swaps) with no unexplained 1s or 3s into the swap. Min. rating is 4.95. I do my best to keep flakers out of my swaps and I will angel if necessary.

Are extinct/mythical animals allowed? Such as dinosaurs/dragons?

I hope so! :D :D A dragon would be COOL! :D Watching the swap for now...seeing what I can clear off my crafting plate first! :D

Great Idea! :) :) However, I am not into sending glass items by post ... I will keep an eye out for your next month's chosen craft!

@TheGraceMartin extinct/mythical creatures are absolutely allowed!!! In fact some of the pins or of dinosaur topped jars.

@RooBaRoo I've never had a problem sending glass as thick as Mason or Jelly jars in the mail as long as you protect it with lots of padding and mark the parcel "Fragile" they should be fine to ship. I'm searching ideas for the next project and will have it up soon.

Awesome! I can't wait to start crafting!

How "lenient" would you be on the completion of the project per the pinterest pictures?.... for example: I would also prefer to use plastic jars (especially if these become gifts for children)... and I prefer "natural coloring" to the animal figures rather than a solid color. I would most likely further decorate the jar to enhance the overall project. (Example: If I were to put a tiger on the top, I'd likely decorate the jar and lid with jungle vines or paw prints)... I'm interested in the project... sort of... but would definitely broaden the scope of possibilities.

@pkmccann you should certainly feel free to use your artistic license to choose color, embellishments etc. I would think a plastic jar would work as long as the paint adheres to it without chipping with use.
