The Un-Journal Journaling Swap 2014; August 2014

I am taking this swap over for @LauraAust who needs to step away from hosting at this time. Most of the description is directly from her. Please note, there will be a few changes, specifically ~ since I host other swaps, I will be putting up THREE months at a time, instead of the remaining year.

This will be an ongoing, monthly swap. This allows people to sign up for all 12, just one, or pick and choose any number of months. The sign up deadline will be the last day of the previous month and the send by date will be the 5th of the following month. THREE Months of swaps will be posted at once – this way you can work on future months when you want to (there is no reason to have to wait until partners are assigned each month to begin your writing).

Each month’s swap description will list a variety of journal prompts. You will choose 10 of those prompts to use.

You may do your journaling on lined notebook paper, stationery, plain paper, the back of placements, graph paper, etc. The only requirement is that the paper you are using is clean! You do not have to decorate with stickers or doodles, but you most certainly can do so if you want.

Your journaling can be handwritten (printed, cursive or a combination), or it can be typed. The only requirement is that it be legible! You may use colored pens/ink – when you rate, you may not rate down if your partner wrote/printed in a color you do not like.

If you want to keep your journaling it is permissible to make photocopies of what you have written and send your partner the photocopies. Photocopies must be legible and not that kind of old toner that brushes off when touched.

Each prompt should be at least a full 8” x 10” (approx.) page (or two 5” x 8” pages) – or something comparable. That is one full A4 or two A5 for our international folks. Please put time and effort into your writing – send something you would be happy receiving. Be sure to indicate on the first page the swap name and the month.

This is an international swap since we aren’t sending a whole journal. I realize one month you might be mailing just 10 sheets of paper while other months you might be mailing more – keep this in mind before you sign up.

You must have a minimum rating of 4.99 to join. If you are new enough to not have any ratings you are welcome to join if you have a well filled out profile (I will be the judge) AND you are a member of the Newbie Helpers group. I reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason – I am so tired of flakers! I am prepared to angel this swap but please don’t put me in a situation where I have to do it – flakers will be outed in every way that I can think of.

AUGUST 2014

Three pet peeves

You have $100,00 but you can’t spend it on yourself – what do you do with it?

What is something that really bugs you?

What do you do in your spare time?

What is in your purse right now?

Did you ever forget something extremely important?

What is your favorite season?

Who is your hero?

What things about you do yourself do you feel that someone who just met you would like?

Something you have been meaning to do but have been putting off

What has been the most stressful event you have lived through?

What’s the coolest thing you have ever seen in a museum?

What is your current favorite snack?

What made you smile today?

If you had just one day left to live, what would you do? What would you tell people?

Write about a time you performed in front of an audience

Write about something that flopped

Have you ever been accused of something you didn’t do?

Have you ever taken a long trip alone?

Ten things that make me cry (talk about them)

Describe an accident you have been in

Write about a day spent in another country

What was your last food craving?

Who was your first (or any) crush and what made him/her special?

Describe 5 things you want to see or do before it is too late

Name one thing that you think brings out the good in people

Ten people I would love to meet (talk about them)

Write about the best basement or attic you have ever been in

Write about an organization you have belonged to

Did you ever run away from home as a kid?

We aren't sending a whole journal, but is it allowed to make this swap in a notebook with not that many pages? For example a Moleskine cahier? :)

jclove 07/26/2014 #

Is a full page considered front and back, or just one side?

ImzadiRose 07/29/2014 #

Absolutely @heartcore1985 ~ you can put it into a notebook if you'd like to.

Full page is considered just the front, @Firefly12 ~ but I'm sure everyone would love more than that, if you want to do both. :D

Unjournaling is en route to my partner. Enjoy!
