Description:

I adore quilts made from flannel - it's soooo soft! I know I'm not the only one but I never see swaps for anything other than quilting cotton. So, here it is! :-) I hope you'll join me.

You will have 2 partners. Send each partner 1 fat quarter of flannel.

I'll be hosting a series of these every 3 weeks so keep watching. Swap #

NO Solids!!!

When a color is listed, that color needs to be the focal and dominant color.

Now for the bla-bla's. I'm allowing newbies with WELL filled out profiles who are also members of the Newbie Helpers Group. I will be checking ALL profiles before I assign partners. If you are uncomfortable with someone who's signed up, please message me about it. NO unresolved 1's!!! No recent unexplained 3's. If i think something's fishy, I will remove you. If you flake on any of my swaps you will be reported, rated with a 1, the groups you are in will be notified, and you will be ban from any future swaps I run both public and in groups. I do not like doing this but I'm tired of being in other swaps that are too lenient and I end up being flaked on...

I am going to watch. A fat quarter is 18 x 21 or 22, right????

ABackwoodsLife 03/17/2014 #

@JaMaJo yep :-) I hope you'll join us.

In case anyone is curious/interested, Joann Fabrics has all of their flannel (or at least most of it), on sale at 2.99 a yard. Yep. I think it's all of it. I plan on getting all my fabric for the first ten in one go. Before sales tax, it's like $15 if you get a half yard and cut it down into two FQs to send out (which seems a little boring because I want to keep some fabric too), or $30 for 20 different fabrics, 1/2 yard each, and you get to keep half of it! :-)

ABackwoodsLife 03/19/2014 #

@FooFaRaw :-) that's what I'm planning on doing but haven't checked their sale dates yet

ABackwoodsLife 03/19/2014 #

PLUS if you get Joann's emails, they sent a coupon in today's email for 25% off your total for this Friday thru Sunday!!! So the cost would be $2.25 per yard! :-D

ABackwoodsLife 03/19/2014 #

The coupon is also under coupons on their app.

ABackwoodsLife 03/19/2014 #

It's regularly $6.99 on sale for $2.99 thru the 21st and if you use the bonus coupon on the 20th or 21st, it will only be $2.25 per yard!!! Saving $4.74 per yard. If you buy 10 yards, that would be a total savings of $47.40!!! WOW!

Good idea about getting all your fabric at one time. I was just at JoAnn's last night and picked up my woodland animal fabric (got two yards cause I know I will use it - love making flannel blankets, too). That will be funny if we get what we send out. LOL! I have seen different fabric at different JoAnn stores, too. I think the sale goes on through this Saturday but am not sure so you better check it out quick. :)

Oh god I was at JoAnn's yesterday buying quilting cotton and did not have a chance to look at the flannels. Well, I guess I will just have to hope the balance in my checking account will be enough for me to return to the scene (or else it would be a crime!)

HeideC 03/20/2014 #

I totally wish Swap-Bot had a mobile app so I could keep track of what I'm watching easier!

ABackwoodsLife 03/20/2014 #

@HeideC I totally agree with you! They need a mobile app. :-) I'm envious - I wish I was close enough to run back and forth to Joann's... We literally live in the backwoods of Georgia and the closest Joann's is about 2 hour drive each way... But I have a friend who is also a fabric hoard and we normally try to go once every 6 weeks or so.

HeideC 03/21/2014 #

Well.... it is about a 25 minute detour on my way home from work ... If I go from my house it takes about 45 minutes to get there. So I try to only go when I have other errands in the area. There used to be a JoAnns directly on my way home, but they closed down that location because this one is a newer store and the older one was getting too much business from the people on the West side of town who did not want to drive on the interstate. Bad move, they lost a LOT of business because there is a Michael's and a Hobby Lobby in the area.

HeideC 03/21/2014 #

PS Are monkeys considered woodland animals? What about frogs? Ack....so many cute fabrics!

ABackwoodsLife 03/21/2014 #

Lol @HeideC if their natural environment is the woods, than yes. :-)

JaMaJo 03/22/2014 #

I am so lucky! My JoAnn's is about 10 minutes away.

ABackwoodsLife 03/24/2014 #

@JaMaJo :-P lol that is one thing I miss about Florida... I lived less than 20 minutes from 3 Joann's, 2 Michael's, and a number of various craft & fabric stores... Here I live in a county that doesn't even have a hospital or walmart!!!

catchahug 03/28/2014 #

Only walmart and expensive quilt shops
