Description:

This idea is inspired by the Ultimate Slash Madness Tourney from last year & the year before.

Step 1: Print out this year's Slash Bracket.

Step 2: Working from the outside inward, fill in your choices for the best or your favorite pairing from each matchup. Then move to the next column.

Step 3: When you're down to one choice on each page, decide between those two which pairing is the winner and put the name in the blank at the bottom of the pages.

Step 4 (optional): Attach the two pieces of paper together and decorate however you like.

Step 5: Enclose a short note with your username to let your partner know what you thought of the exercise. Were you surprised by the outcome? Was your favorite pairing left off? Were any choices especially hard to make?

Step 6: Using snail mail, send your partner the results!

If you have trouble with the PDF, let me know and I can post the file elsewhere and/or email the file to you as well.

Don't laugh. I don't understand...!!

@stlouisphile No worries! Print out the two pages in Step 1. You'll see 32 sets of different fandom pairings. Choose one pairing you like from each set. For example, the top left pairing is Ray/Fraser from Due South vs. Draco/Harry from Harry Potter. Let's say you like Draco/Harry better. You'd write that pairing in the blank to the immediate left. Once you're done with all 32 of them, you move on to the next round of the brackets. For example, you might then have to compare Draco/Harry against Brian/Justin from Queer as Folk and choose which of those pairings you like better. In the end, you'll wind up with two pairings and choose the overall winner of your bracket. Send your partner the bracket you filled out so that your partner can read your choices.

Does that make more sense? Here's an example of a different bracket, if you want a visual: A filled-out bracket, different from the specific bracket we're using
