Description:

OK I'll give it a go at hosting this series -- maybe one every 4-6 weeks. I want to set this up so that everyone can join in and it doesn't get over complicated. If ANYONE thinks I should tweak this in any way JLMK. Thanks!

We will be swapping hand-made stencils (cut by hand or with a die-cutting machine). Unless otherwise specified the designs will be Sender's Choice.

You can send either TWO (2) "Semi-permanent" stencils made out of heavy card-stock, chipboard, Tyvek, etc.

OR

You can send ONE (1) "Permanent" stencil made out of stencil acetate (any heavy weight, durable acetate/plastic material -- stiff enough to not "flop over" when held upright).

The stencil must have at least one dimension that is a minimum of 4" in length.

Bigger stencils, sending more than the required number of stencils, or sending masks that coordinate with the stencil(s) are always OK. :)

So get out those cutting blades and have some fun. If there are any problems or questions with this swap please comment below or PM me. Thanks!

I think this sounds perfect! Thanks for setting it up, hun.

I've made stencils from dollar store plastic index dividers, and though they do flop over when held upright, would they still be considered semi permanent? Mine have held up quite well after many uses. Just curious... Also, I'm always looking for designs that i can use for stencils. Where do you all find yours?

@Susi yours sound like a plastic I would consider "permanent". Can they be washed if necessary? (I know some people don't wash their stencils but I do if they have fine detail). If you can wash them without tearing them or damaging them (and if they are 100% plastic you should be able to do that) then I would think they would be fine as "permanent"

I have found some 6x6" plastic stencils on Amazon and the local craft stores, but I have made my best scores at trade shows (big semi-annual scrap-booking or stamping shows).
