As you may know most groups and swaps require swappers to have a few Type 3 swaps under their belt. This is a swap to help Newbies get some type 3 Craft and packages swaps under their belt. This is not nec I am a newbie to making ATC or a newbie to Swap-bot but I am a newbie to TYPE 3 swaps. But all newbies are welcomed. So lets do a theme why not! cats OR coffee! Hey be glad I didnt say John Cusack. For this swap you will have 3 partners and send each partner 1 card made by you. Cats or Coffee. GO get started. Wait come back you need to know some rules. RULES about ATCs ATC are 2.5 x3.5 not smaller and not bigger. This is the size of a playing card or baseball card. Yes, some people do use those as backing. Your base of your card needs to be sturdier than a piece of paper, or thin flimsy card stock. Again think of the sturdiness of a playing card or baseball card. ATCs are Artist trading cards. It is about art on a small area. So be creative. Do not just glue on a few things or slap in a sticker and a ribbon. You need to dress it up some. Make a fun background, use distress ink, stamp or emboss, collage, add a brad or eyelet, or ribbon or fiber, to just name a few. Do your best work. ETA: of course those who hand draw or hand paint are also welcomed. Mailing BLAH BLAH BLAH Protect your cards with some kind of waterproof barrier, esp as this time of year some areas get precipitation. If your cards are chunky or bumpy, you will need to add another 20 cents and mark them non machine-able or hand cancel. This is your art protect, it and consider it worthy of an additional 20 cents. It is up to the sender to decide what info to add to the back of the card. Another great idea is to use a mailing address label on the back, if for some reason the envelop were to tear open, eventually the PO will get the card back to the sender. It takes weeks but it has happened. At the Bare minimum Please add some contact info on the back of your card. Some players go all out and add the swap name, a title of their art and even their blood type, and shoe size. Somewhere, inside or outside of your envelope, you need to list your name, swap bot name, the Swap name. Add Swap-bot to your info as many of us swap ATCs other places. Oh and Yes, I will Angel this swap. Gee if you Flake you will be so sorry, cause have your address and I will send you a box of newborn orphaned kittens or my 14 year old Drama Queen. Not sure which is worse. One will keep you up at night and one will drive you to drink or hide in your craft room. |
