In this swap you will make three mini books for your partner to incorporate into their altered book/art journal. It's senders choice but if you check your partner's profile and let that drive your creation of at least one of the books, that would be spectacular! ;) Make sure they are pretty small, not only to keep postage down but also to make it possible for your partner to slip them into an already working journal. You can make pockets to slide the mini books in or create other ways of incorporating them into a larger journal...or let your partner figure out how they want to work the books into their journal. These books should be small enough to fit three into a reasonably sized envelope and not have outrageous postage requirements. I've added some examples of types of mini books to get our creative juices flowing. The type of book is entirely up to you, however I am challenging everyone to make them by up-cycling something you already have and work on different techniques to make them interesting for your partner. :) Some ideas are: any paper scraps, toilet paper rolls, gum boxes, playing cards, hotel key cards and sleeves, cereal boxes/packaging/cardboard, greeting cards, recycling, junk-mail, envelopes, magazine pages or newspaper. Here is a series by Jennibellie- There are 5 different mini books made from recycled cards (when the page first opens it will look like it's the same as the last one but each video is a different type of book): Other Favorites: Ridiculously teeny tiny mini book charms with pockets Please add any of your favorite links in the comments as well. This is a nice opportunity for us to share techniques we like or that we are just curious about. I will look over profiles and make sure that there is no funkiness, low ratings, recent no sends before I hit the assign partners button. This is a group swap so we should all be able to feel safe with each other at this point. Yes? ;) I will angel this swap if something comes up and someone cannot follow through. It may take me a bit if it's international because $ is not pretty these days. :) Most of all socialize, share ideas and have a ton of fun!! :) <3 Big thanks to Audio for starting this group! <3 |
