Description:
Not all vintage postcards are of interesting locations or scenes. Find the most boring vintage postcard (pre-1980) you can find, and send it to your partner. The subject doesn't matter, just so it's desperately dull! The card can be sent naked or in an envelope, and can be used or unused, but should be in good condition (nothing torn or damaged or smoky). No reproduction cards. The design is sender's choice, but try to send something you would like to receive and that you think your partners will like. Optional: If you want, you can include a note explaining why you think this card is boring. (Inspired by Nandin's Vintage PC "Boring" card swap)

Me too! Some weren't boring to me, so it was nice to see what other people considered boring. :)

Vintage to me means old. Is my daughter vintage because she was born in 1974? I have albums filled with real vintage, turn of the century post cards. That is vintage! However, I am in the swap. What I send will be old.

pernie123: I'm not sure where it comes from (fashion? collectibles?), but the standard meaning of "vintage" is 20+ years old. There are actually legal definitions for what "antique" means (100+ years old) and "semi-antique" (50-100 years old), so I guess "vintage" covers the rest.

Also, something can be "vintage (year)," like a wine, but I don't usually hear that applied to collectibles.

I'd rather not think of myself as vintage, but I guess it's true!

It sounds like you have plenty of great cards in your collection, whether they're vintage or antique. Have fun with the swap! :)

I've extended the swap deadline a day, as November 11 is a holiday in the US, so the post office will be closed.
