Isn't Ernie just the cutest?!?!?!

Lots of us I have seen just LOVE the little Ernie the Envie mascot. So why not get our Ernie fix on and have a fun swap at the same time!

In this swap you will have one partner to send to.

This is sender's choice of what kind of item to send, however there ARE a few requirements:

It must be 2 or 3 dimensional. In other words, no flat drawings, digital files, printouts, colored envelopes, etc. ATCs ARE okay if they are multi layered and nicely done. You could make stuffies out of fabric, felt, ornaments, shrink plastic, painted wood, metal, polymer clay, cross stitch, paper mache, air clay, stained or painted glass, earrings or jewelry, ornaments, etc. Really the sky (and your imagination) is the limit.

Let's make a lasting tribute to our favorite little envie! You must have at least 3 rated type 3 swaps to join. No recent 1s or 3s, and any negative ratings must have a good explanation.

I WILL angel for this if I have to but really, if you don't think you can send, please don't join this swap! I'm giving you three whole weeks after your partner is assigned to get this done so you will have plenty of time to think things through and make something really nice. There is no size limit (I personally just LOVE teeny tiny things!), but please make sure it is nice no matter what size it is. Let's put some real thought and effort into this and make it a great swap. :)

Soooo, do we make something that looks like Ernie? If so, is a nice, multi-layered, greeting card acceptable? :-)

FunnerKimberley 07/26/2013 #

Yes, something that looks like Ernie, and yes that would be acceptable. :)

I just didn't want a flat drawing or something like that.

moonlightlaura 07/26/2013 #

This sounds like fun! Watching right now!!! I have my mind going right now...hehehe

FunnerKimberley 07/26/2013 #

I keep thinking of different things you could do... suncatchers, shrinky dinks, sequined hair clips, ornaments, clay, painted plaster, crochet or sewing...tiny little felt, keychain, jewelry, and on and on. hehe Who knows which one I will do by the time the swap is here! :)

I am really good at plastic canvas, but I use the one with the smaller holes and use DMC floss instead of yarn and it comes out awesome! I think I may do that and add button for the eyes and a felt mouth...Maybe even make a notebook cover or something...still thinking! LOL

moonlightlaura 07/29/2013 #

If I do use the 7 count instead of 10 count, I can make that into a notebook cover...if I use the 10 count it could be a cute wall hanging!

FunnerKimberley 07/29/2013 #

I love plastic canvas! :)

I can't sign up for this swap at this time - boohoo - but I would LOVE to see the final creations made by you all. Send me photos of your Ernie masterpieces to rachel at swap-bot.com and I will share them on the blog. Have fun!

Advertise it on FB and its REGIONAL!!!!! REALLY!!!!! MORE COUNTRIES THAN JUST AMERICA YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FunnerKimberley 08/ 8/2013 #

Woah, calm down there. You are MORE than welcome to create the same thing internationally. I made it regional due to postage costs. I'm not going to host a swap I can't afford to send from! And -I- didn't advertise it on Facebook. Swap-Bot did!

FunnerKimberley 08/ 8/2013 #

Thanks Rachel! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with either.

ThESwEeTiE 08/ 9/2013 #

I sincerely apologise for the outburst, it is just that shouldnt people only join if they know they can afford to send anyway and its so much more exciting to send and receive things from overseas.... I really am sorry, and no, I wont be hosting one of my own.. I am far too busy to host right now.. I would have loved to join in though... never mind.

FunnerKimberley 08/ 9/2013 #

While it might be more exciting, (I would LOVE to get packages and send from other countries) I myself cannot afford to do that right now. And since -I'm- the one that created this swap, thought it up, etc. and as host WILL be participating, I kept it affordable to ME. So yes, people should only join if they can afford to send. My swap, I can only afford to send in the U.S. I can't make a swap and exclude myself from it. Again, ANYONE is welcome to make an international version. I think it would be awesome! But I know my limits, and I kept the swap within those. Maybe when YOU get more time, you can create one internationally. Happy Swapping!

You are welcome @dmarie I hope everyone will send Rachel pictures of what they sent/received. I'll definitely do another one of these soon.

@moonlightlaura I am definitely going to keep this going. I love it. I even got a little shelf for all my ernie stuff in my craft room. I'm hooked! :)
