Description:

You will make 2 ATCs for 1 partner.

Have you wondered what you can do with that Gesso you have at home?
Well here is a way of making an interesting background with texture.

Materials:
A5 size sheet of heavyish watercolour paper or a cereal carton will do fine.
Gesso
Acrylic paint in 2 colours that won't make mud. Mix the paint with water to make a thick wash.
Soft brush
Cling wrap or baking paper

Instructions:
Use a palette knife (or a kitchen knife) to put a thick layer of gesso on the paper.
Use the brush to pick up paint and drop onto the gesso while it is still wet. Drop blobs of colour over the paper.
Lay the cling wrap over the paper and paint, and scrunch it up. You will see the patterns forming under the plastic.
Leave it for a couple of hours- don't let it dry.
Carefully peel the wrap off then LET IT DRY.

When dry, cut 2 ATCs from the sheet- 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches Leave one as it is- you will send this one as well as the next one. Maybe you will "see" something in the design that you made. So, use paint, crayons, coloured pencils or even ink to make it stand out. If you don't, use it as the background for your own embellishment.
