Patience of Job Postcard

Oh Wow! I knew IMMEDIATELY the verse I would use when I read your swap description! So gotta join you in this swap, Yanill! :)

You know the biggest problem I had with the Book of Job, was that I could never tell if because his friends said things if those things were accurate and true. Does that make sense? Was all they things they said wrong? Were some of them?

I think a lot of what they said was "true" from our human perspective. But I also think their mistakes were that they assumed Job's suffering was caused by some sin. They were judging Job without knowing what God was doing. Because really, how can any of us REALLY know what God is doing. I trust that He is ultimately fair even though there is so much suffering in the world. I believe the suffering this world endures is because we all have Free Will to make our own choices, even when they don't line up with what our Creator would choose. He gave us the freedom to choose anything. And I can almost glimpse the "fairness" in that, even though it is such a problem in our world! LOL!

Anyway, I can't see the whole "picture" like God can, so how can I really judge what is "fair" and what is not fair. And likewise, I think Job's friends were making false assumptions and added to Job's suffering and giving him false "advice".

I really LOVE how the book ends. It makes my heart smile. :)

@AZmom875 I know what you mean but I agree with everything @KarlaKC is saying. You have to take in consideration that Job's friends were human and so was Job. :)

We studied Job in depth in church a couple of years ago. One verse really stood out to me. It will be the one that I use. It reminds me of how powerful my Savior is and that in the end, He will be the one triumphant over all!

I haven't read Job in probably a year so this will be a good opportunity to go back and do some digging. There's a whole lot of stuff going on in this book!
