Description:

You'll have one partner and one month to send this swap -- signup closes July 17, with swap to be sent by August 10.

You'll send one envelope to your partner -- with a letter (handwritten or typewritten, sender's choice) and any other items that you can send to keep the letter to one ounce. If you write a long, multi-page letter, perhaps that'll be all you send. With shorter letters, suggested items are: ATCs, photos, short (lightweight, lol) newspaper or magazine articles, stickers, postcards, collectibles such as postage stamps, drawings, etc. If you do go over one ounce/20 g, that's okay, just be sure to put extra postage on it as needed. One ounce/20 g is the minimum and contents sent are sender's choice.

PLEASE NOTE -- There are two versions of this swap -- THIS ONE IS THE INTERNATIONAL version.

Postage cost for this swap = a one ounce letter at overseas rate if your partner is overseas [U.S. domestic rate if you and partner are both in U.S.]

If you are an international member of this group, please join THIS swap (and not the US-only one)--

NOTE -- If you are a member of this group in USA, you can also join the US version of this swap.

Stamp featured is Arrival in America of Lafayette, issued 1952 - Scott 1010 -- and we wish all our French friends a Happy Bastille Day this July 14 --

Please post any questions you may have about this swap -- Happy Swapping and let's get those mailboxes filled!

NB 1 oz is 28 g, and 20 g is 0.7 oz.

Just so that nobody gets disappointed because their partner used the "20 g" minimum rather than the "1 oz" one.

(Though at least here in Germany, the first two postage weight steps are 20g and 50g, so 20g is the "moral equivalent" of an ounce, I guess - the maximum weight for a letter that can still use a "normal" stamp.)

Thanks, Philip @pne -- you're correct -- we are going with the "moral equivalent" for those sending from other parts of the world, but have left 1-oz as part of the description as those in U.S. can send up to 1-oz. as the cutoff for weight of standard letter.

Also, please note -- to all that actually join this swap -- this is the minimum [1-oz/20g] -- you are welcome to go over the stated weight, if you are willing to pay the extra postage.
