Description:

Hello mail art lovers! Do you, like me, love making envelopes but after making 20 plain and easy ones you get bored? Why not try a challenge? I will give you a task and then you will interpret it as you like!

Challenge #3: Three Colors

For this swap, we will make two envies with three dominant colors in their art. The choice of those colors is up to the receivers this time! When signing up for this swap, each swap-bot user must write a comment with their choice of colors. They may be the same or different for each sender. When the partners are assigned, I will send a message to each participant with their palette. The receiver's first color choice will go to the swapper with a username that ranks higher alphabetically. Any medium, technique or theme is acceptable. The main 3 colors should cover about 80%+ of the envie.

Inside the envelope we will send one flat profile-based surprise with one or more of the chosen colors (may contain other colors as well).

I hope I explained myself clearly, if not, don't hesitate to leave a comment!

Requirements: no newbies, min. 5 Type2/3 swaps completed, 4.95+ rating, will angel.

Let's get creative!!!

There is going to be a new challenge every three weeks.

There are many great color palettes on the internet, if you need to check the names.

F.ex., this one

roxswapbot 05/20/2013 #
  1. Purple / Turquoise / Silver ( or Grey)
  2. Magenta / Emerald Green / Mustard Yellow

Teal, plum and grey (like to rec from both senders the same colors!)

I wouldn't be able to source certain colours or be able to mix them perfectly to get the exact colour.

I agree with that, for me, getting very specific colors to the right shade would be near impossible. I would love to join if I could make the exact colors people are wanting.

1: Purple, teal, blue. 2: Pink, turquoise/aqua, grey. Any shades of those colors or something close will do.

JavaJunkie 06/ 7/2013 #
  • 1) red, turquoise, lime green
  • 2) blues, purples, greens
  • Doesn't have to be exactly those colors, those are just guidelines. I'm easy to please! I'll be happy with any happily colored envelope in my mailbox :-)
wanderfrolics 06/10/2013 #

1 - purple, teal ,blue 2 - green, green, green - different shades :-)

I don't think using the exact colors is what matters here. The important thing is to do our best creating something beautiful for our partners. Of course, to see what can be produced with only three colors and how they fit together, is fun too. Just use what you think is closest to the desired colors, that's all :)

CaptainAstro 06/12/2013 #

1) red, black, yellow 2) green, blue, yellow
