Description:

For this swap, you will make 5 envelopes with special paper, not plain paper and send them to two partners!

Special paper, meaning printed pages, stamped paper, artsy papers that you found, bought, created, etc.

Sizes must be mailable, PLEASE!! No tiny envies, unless partner specifies this is okay in the comments below!

If you've not done this before, it is rather simple...find an envelope you like, gently tear it apart and use it as a template. After you cut one out, fold on the fold lines from your pattern and glue the sides to the bottom and you're done!

2 Swap Partners this time.
As usual, with POS swaps, check their dislikes, please!!

Do not send them naked.

Send them in a Mail Art Envie!!

I would like ATC sized and larger, please. Thank you! :)

I would like regular sized for the swap. If you send small, please do so as extras or not at all :)

Any tips on what kind of glue to use for these? I've never done them before.

So, 2 partners, 5 envelopes each equals 10 envelopes total? Just checking ...

@user2637 I like to use Scotch quick-drying glue. It comes in a red bottle and really does dry quickly.

To all..I wanted to mention how EASY it is to line your envelopes, too, with tissue paper or dictionary pages--they look so finished!

Hmm, I haven't seen that at my craft store but I will look again. Right now I have Elmer's, 2 kinds of ModPodge, Diamond Glaze (would prefer not to use that), wood glue (heh), and glue sticks. Anyone have experience using any of those?

I prefer rubber cement. It is inexpensive and has a great bond when you coat both the pieces of the paper you are bonding together, plus if you get a out of place it comes off very nicely.

Ah, I can't tolerate the scent of rubber cement. I'll try what I have and see what I come up with. :) I remember someone PM'd me a recipe for envelope glue, but I can't find it....

Tacky glue works great, Its the only glue I have ever used on my handmade envies. That and deco tape along the edges for extra support. So, maybe elmers and tape along the edges for support would work?

I picked up some envie glue from Staples, haven't tried it yet tho. Says its Envelope Moistener with Adhesive 2Go Pen... Hmmm? Guess I'll find out soon enough. I'll let y'all know...

I just use glue sticks. Never had a problem. My favorite is Alene's.

doulakk 05/28/2013 #

5 envies to each swap partner, please
