Description:

So I had noticed a comment on someone's swap by a newbie saying that they were having troubles finding a swap to join that they liked. So I took a look at their profile and saw listed amongst their likes "Sharpie Art". Being not too familiar with the idea I googled it and saw some pretty nifty stuff. So I thought, why not make an ATC swap for Sharpies! And so here we are.

I titled it as being for newbies not just in the sense of being new to swap bot but also for those like me that are new to Sharpie art.

So for this first one we will do black and white Sharpies and for future ones I may move on to coloured sharpies.

So you will have one partner and make one Sharpie ATC in black and white. The paper you use can have colour on it though if you wish (ie maybe draw on wrapping paper or something). This is not like a zentangle where it is all designs necessarily. You should have a picture drawn on it somewhere but you may incorporate some design work in with the picture. And the picture doesn't have to be large (ie you could have a bunch of designs for the back ground and have a picture of an ice cream cone melting in the middle or something).

Do your best work but remember that not everyone may be the artist that you are. Rate according to following the instructions, not according to judgement of drawing abilities. I am going to give this a bit of extra time than I normally would because if you are like me you may want to do a few practice runs first and throw a few in the garbage and start again, ha ha!

Everyone is invited to join (especially newbies) and I can angel this if need be.

Hope you have fun!

Added Info:

An ATC is short for Artists Trading Card. It is a card that is 2.5" x 3.5" in size (the size of a usual playing card). It is usually made of card stock and can be hand drawn, decorated and embellished in any way you like.

On the back of the card you should add the following: title of the card, your name, date created, how many in that series (for example if I were making 3 of them I would write 1 of 3 , 2 of 3 or 3 of 3) and the name of the swap that you are making it for.

An ATC is never sold, only traded. And if possible, you should send your ATC in a plastic trading card sleeve (found at hobby stores and some dollar stores too) to help protect the card.

This should be fun. I'm amazed by all the Sharpie art I've seen on Deviant Art. I'm a bit nervous because this will only be my second ATC ever and my other wasn't drawn, but I have been trying to get into drawing again so this will be good for me.
