QnT What's in your attic quilt block swap #1 1-3-13 thru 2-3-13 In this swap you will make two Attic Window quilt block for each of 2 partners for a total of 4 blocks sent each month. --each mailed block will be 9 inches --using novelty prints, scenery, or an interesting print as the item/items seen in the attic window --the left side of the block should be a lighter color than the bottom side and can be plain or a small print fabric (senders choice) You may use the following tutorial for the 9inch version of this block. Anyone more versed in adding web sites to a swap is welcome to add a link for this....and THANK YOU in advance for doing it.

This version makes it so easy to get the blocks just right! Now why didn't I think of that?!

Always loved attic windows quilts -- I kind of wish we were sending two to each partners -- like making them, like receiving them.

let me see how much response we get to that request.....I would love to make 4 (2 for each partner), I think maybe I'll just go and do that and if you are for it or against doubling the quantity, please post below.....

I've read the tutorial. It is not easier for me. I've been making attic windows for years and have devised a method of making the mitered corners that is quick and accurate. So if no one minds, I'll use my method.

I'm with @junemoon having to do HST for the corners is more time, material and work. My blocks will have mitered corners

yikes, I have always had trouble getting the block to lay flat with the mitered corners so this looked like an easier method for me.

I do not have a problem with anyone doing the mitered corners instead of going strictly by this pattern, in fact maybe we can offer that as an option in the future swaps.
