Description:

Thanks to Alphenstamp, who ran one of these last year and agreed I could run my own.

International swap. 2 partners, 2 triangular ATCs to each partner.

I will carefully check profiles before I assign partners so please be assured that I will not let anyone who doesn't fulfil the requirements join the swap

My other Triangle ATC swap is for members of the Established ATC Swappers group only, but this one is open to all Swapbotters that qualify.

Make 2 ATCs for each of your partners in a triangle shape. You can use any medium, and colour, as long as they are triangular.

As always, committed swappers only please. Only sign up if you intend to send and intend to rate your partner. As it is international some of you will be sending overseas.

Swappers with 4.8 and over ratings, no no-sends and at least 4 different ATC swaps under their hat.

Have fun with these, it's a very different shape to work with!

wow this is a great idea. how do you work out the size? just cut up a piece of card to norm atc size then make it into a triangle........just answered my own question DUH.

may sign up for this as it's quite far in the future.

missychrissy 03/18/2008 #

Yes, cut a normal sized ATC (2.5 x 3.5 inches) then make a mark at 1.25" and cut from the bottom corners up to make the triangle. I've embellished them both ways - point up and point down.

Can the triangle be a right triangle or even an isoceles one? LOL Just couldn't resist ... smile

missychrissy 03/18/2008 #

LOL! just a normal one please..!

pahasiga 03/18/2008 #

Well the one at picture is an isosceles triangle...

missychrissy 03/19/2008 #

Thanks for that! I've no idea what it was called - just a triangle to me!

Susi 03/21/2008 #

these sound interesting, challenging, and fun. I'm in!

missychrissy 03/22/2008 #

Great to have you on board Susi

I'm up for a new challenge. I'm in

SamiE 04/ 4/2008 #

After we cut out the triangle, do we send them as is or do we attach them to something?

missychrissy 04/ 5/2008 #

You cut the triangle, then decorate it as a normal ATC and send it like that, preferably in one of those clear envelopes if you have them, or wrapped in tissue to protect it. You don't attach it to anything otherwise your recipients won't be able to put them in their albums.

The triangles don't go onto another ATC background? Then it's not technically an ATC because it's the wrong size...

... mathematically speaking a triangle that's 3.5" tall can only be 1.75" wide at the base, and one that's 2.5" wide at one side can only be 3.75" wide...at least that's what my measurements tell me.

;) LOL--I'm not a mathemetician, I'm an artist darnit!

twobluecrows 04/ 9/2008 #

There are: Equilateral, Isosceles, Scalene, Acute, Right, Obtuse, and Right Isosceles Triangles.

twobluecrows 04/ 9/2008 #

Seriously, do they get mounted on an ATC background or sent nekkid and triangular?

Cyn

twobluecrows 04/ 9/2008 #

Oops: Math is Fun

missychrissy 04/10/2008 #

The triangular bit left when you've cut it from a 2.5 x 3.5 ATC base - that's what you send. Not mounted onto another ATC. As in the picture above. Alphenstamp never had these mathematical problems when she did her swap last year LOL!

Alphenquilts 04/14/2008 #

No I sure didn't!!!hahahaha, much less demanding partners then! :-)

Alphenquilts 04/14/2008 #

and about the funny shapes:

I've just seen a Right Triangle ATC, never have done that myself but very intriguing....

Good luck on your hosting missychrissy and to the rest happy swapping!

missychrissy 04/14/2008 #

Thank you Alphenstamp, must experiment and see about a right angled triangle.... maybe that will be my next swap LOL!
