Meta Postcard!

Here we go, mail art lovers!

(Before creating this swap, I checked with my local p.o. to make sure a postcard could be mailed as such, so we're all set!)

For this swap, you will send 1 handmade/re-purposed/altered postcard to one partner. The theme: postage.

The front of the postcard (where the picture would normally be), should be covered in anything postage-related, (besides postage stamps.) It can be postmarks, stamp-cancellation marks, "fragile" stamp/stickers, airmail stamp/stickers, hand-drawn, rubber-stamped or zentangled. As long as it is postage related.

On the back (where you'd normally write the message, address & stamp it), will have only the address (doesn't matter where as long as it can be read) and be covered in postage stamps. The challenge is to use as many smaller denomination stamps as possible in order to cover the entire side, so every stamp on this side will need to be postmarked. For example, if you and your partner are in the US, you'll have to cover it with enough stamps to equal 32 cents (current domestic postcard rates). Or, if you're in the US & your partner is in Europe, cover this side of the card with as many stamps as you can to equal $1.05. (US to Canada = 85 cents)

The more stamps to be postmarked, the better! Try to be creative though and not use 32, 1 cent stamps. Or if you do, make them different 1 cent stamps. NOTE: One more important thing: leave about 1/2 inch along the bottom for that annoying metering strip that the p.o. has to apply for some reason. Even int'l senders must do this (there's always one on postcards no matter where they're sent from.)

To be sent:

• 1 altered/handmade/re-purposed postcard to 1 partner

• "front" must be postage-related/decorated (using anything other than postage stamps

• "back" or address side must have only the "to" address & be covered in new postage stamps to equal current postcard rates for your country

Ideas to consider: - maybe use the smaller 3.5x5" postcard if sending within the US because it may be hard to fill a larger 4x6" card. You may want to bring your card to the counter at your p.o. to have it hand-cancelled to make sure its okay to be sent and that the address can be read. I would say to put our SB name or the swap name somewhere on the card, but I think we'll know what it is/who its from when it arrives :)

Though this will be "flat" mail in nature, it will take a little more effort than a typical type-2 swap, therefor I'm making it a type-3. Usual group rules apply.
