I have hosted a couple rounds of this swap in another group and the results were FABULOUS - so, I'm going to host in this wonderful group now! You will take a piece of paper suitable for a tangle and draw your Zentangle strings with pencil. Paper can be any size between 3" and 12" (I use 9x12). Then cut your paper into pieces, and mail one piece to each of your partners. Your partner will Zentangle the piece and mail it back to you (at which point you should rate them and thank them), and you will end up with a composite Zentangle made by many different people. How many partners will you have? That depends on how many people sign up for the swap! If 10 people sign up, you will send to nine people (because you won't send to yourself). If fewer sign up, then you have fewer stamps to buy. How should you cut up your tangle? It's up to you. You can cut it so that there is an extra piece for yourself, or not. Cut with straight lines, curves, puzzle pieces... anything goes. Here's where the "IN FULL COLOR" part comes in: when you send your pieces out to your partners for them to tangle, list UP TO three colors that you want them to use in their tangling. Originally I was thinking that you would give each partner the same three colors (for example: blue, magenta and purple) but I suppose you could give each partner a different set of colors - that might be cool! So, the color selection is totally up to you! Some ideas for coloring your zentangle would be to watercolor the background and then tangle in black. Or, leave the background white, tangle in black, and then fill in the empty spots with color. Or, do the tangles in colors.... just stick to the colors that your partner wants you to use! If you'd like your tangle to have a border, please mark this somehow, maybe by x-ing out the border areas with pencil. That way your partner knows not to tangle there. This is how @dobie256 did hers (in the swap photo). A tip after two rounds of this swap - put your name, address (can just be an address label), and color choices on the back of each of your pieces before mailing them out. Your partner will thank you! Dates will be as follows: Deadline to send out stringed pieces: Saturday, Oct. 13th (please click "sent" after sending this step) Deadline to send completed zentangled pieces back to their owners: Saturday, Nov. 10th You will rate your partners AFTER you receive your completed pieces back. Please let me know if there are questions! |
